a thought edit

since it appears that you are going to edit on American race issues you could perhaps have picked a more neutral sounding name. Wikipedia is not a good place to come seeking revenge. In any case, if you put something, anything, on your user page then your user name will change into a blue link rather than being the red one that it is now. The blue link, as opposed to the red link, suggests to others, or at least to me, that you are not the dead end that red links on wikipedia indicates and that perhaps you are even a serious editor who intends to stay around. I hope so. Consider it, Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 16:34, 19 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Fair suggestion. How do I change my account name? Do I have to start a completely new account? Sally Hemings Revenge (talk) 17:28, 6 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

It's a good idea I think. See Wikipedia:Changing username. Also see WP:INDENT to learn how to indent on talk pages, and sign your name with 4 tildes, eg ~~~~ Doug Weller talk 18:53, 20 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
Sorry. You don't sign edits to articles, but you sign everywhere else. Doug Weller talk 20:59, 20 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
I'd like to co-sign what the others have said about a username change. You seem like a clearly competent, historically-minded contributor that takes good sourcing seriously, and I would not like to see you being accused of coming here to right great wrongs based simply on your username and choice of contributions. Important Notice edit

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
