Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Magic Thermodynamic Box

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Magic Thermodynamic Box, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Fiddle Faddle 00:04, 26 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

magic thermodynamic box

edit

Magic thermodynamic box is a registered trademark, so seemingly a page about them is a page about one specific company and product. A suggestion: if this is really a basic and obvious technology isn't there a generic name such a device is known by? Another solar technology/type that the product already operates similar to? Perhaps add details about the _technology_ (not the brand, not the company) under another pre-existing solar-related article. Once there is enough information about that technology itself available, then maybe it could grow to have it's own article about it. Until then, it's just one of many solar technologies. There is no issue with having a page about MTB. The issue was that the prior draft was not improving and required a total rewrite to become a neutral article. WP:TNT was used in order to encourage a well referenced and non advertorial article. The way to construct the article is frst to find your sources (We require references from significant coverage about the entity, and independent of it, and in WP:RS please. See WP:42) andf then to write the article
Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
Hope that helps Fiddle Faddle 16:30, 26 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
My comment was based around his statement that the article wasn't about any specific company or product, but rather a technology. The comment that he made in the article for undeletion page: "i am not trying to promote any company or business as this is just an article educating how a certain invention is changing solar energy and how it normally works" Sure, we can have articles about specific companies and products, but if he was just trying to craft an article about a technology, and not a company or a product, then that is where I was coming from in my suggestion above. I had no idea there was an undeletion request. Your comment makes perfect sense in that light Fiddle Faddle 17:00, 26 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Do not change the vareity of English

edit

In a recent edit to the page generative grammar, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. ~Amatulić (talk) 14:11, 26 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Sockpuppet investigation

edit

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Salihcan97, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
