  Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Salem (UK band), did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. I have just removed your subsequent edits to the same page. This is not how to update information here. Your changes need sources, and need to not wreck the readability of the page. If the article needs changing that drastically (i.e. name change), please post a discussion to the article's Talk page, which you can find here. Jessicapierce (talk) 16:55, 27 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

  Hello, Salemthetruth. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Salem (UK band), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Jessicapierce (talk) 16:55, 27 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Salem (UK band)

edit

You appear to be misunderstanding some basic things about how Wikipedia works, and/or its purpose. Per your recent edit summaries, there is no such thing as "owning" a Wikipedia page - even if the band's name changes, the title of the Wiki article may need to stay the same, for historic purposes. Also, what you're describing as "illegally" posting content is simply not a thing. Frankly I don't feel like spending more time explaining this to you, since you are not replying to messages and I have no idea if you're even reading them. Just wanted to let you know, again, that you cannot continue to remove content from Salem (UK band) on these grounds. Your account is at risk of being blocked. Why not instead play by the rules and post to the article's Talk page any changes that you would like to see implemented? Jessicapierce (talk) 02:38, 1 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

  Hello, I'm Shellwood. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —specifically this edit to Salem (UK band)— because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help Desk or my talk page. Thank you. Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
