Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Blocked

edit

Dear User:Bbb23,

I noticed I have been blocked by you. I can guess it might be for the mistakes I made in Wikidata. But I immediately noticed I have done wrong, and unable to put it right, while in a panic, I contacted a number of users and administrators to help . . . who helped a bit, but not totally. Then I contacted an administrator in wikidata. Then an administrator in Farsi Wiki, where I mainly work, and he promised some help, which I hope is done.

I only wanted to make it clear that I meant no harm . . . .

Thanks for your responsible reaction anyway.Salarabdolmohamadian (talk) 14:25, 16 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

You are not blocked. I have never blocked you. No one has ever blocked you. I don't believe I know you at all. I have no idea where you got the notion that I blocked you.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:33, 16 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
User:Bbb23: Well, I can no more edit English wiki all the same! It says you have blocked me and "This block has been set to expire: 22:06, 17 February 2017!"Salarabdolmohamadian (talk) 15:16, 16 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
I figured it out. From September 22 to December 10, you used different IPs but all in the same range using the same ISP. Today, for the first time, at least in recent history, you used a different IP. That IP is part of a hard-blocked range (by me), and it won't let you (or anyone else) edit while using that IP. Up until you used it, this IP - and other IPs in the same range - have been used only by sock puppets of a rather notorious sockmaster. There is no evidence you are a sock of that master. The best solution would be for you to go back to using the IPs you used to use in which case you would be able to continue editing as before. Please let me know if that's feasible. Obviously, you would have to log off and log back in with one of those other IPs. Thanks for your understanding.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:39, 16 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Dear User:Bbb23,

Thank you for the information. I am not a computer expert ("freak" you would say?!) . . . I just turn it on and go on! So, even if I cannot do much about the IP thing, I at least understand sth about the root of the problem now. It won't matter much as long as the magic IP keeps altering without my knowledge and lets me access in some time, because I mainly work in Farsi Wiki and . . . . I hope things get back to normal in some time to accommodate my occasional touches in the English Wiki. Otherwise, I'll consider doing sth about what you said.

Thank you, Salarabdolmohamadian (talk) 16:54, 16 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

If you continue to have problems editing the English wikipedia, let me know. There's something I can do technically that would help, if necessary.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:57, 16 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Dear User:Bbb23,

I do continue to seem to be blocked. Now that you mentioned, I checked again. I am ok in Farsi Wiki. But in the English Wiki, still blocked. If it is not much problem to you, it would of course be convenient for me to continue to have access. Thanks for your kind attention.Salarabdolmohamadian (talk) 17:02, 16 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

I'd like you first to log off. Then, say tomorrow or whenever after it's convenient, log in and see if you're still blocked. Either way, please let me know. Thanks.--Bbb23 (talk) 17:07, 16 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
Dear User:Bbb23, Sure. I'll write to you in a day or two. Thanks.Salarabdolmohamadian (talk) 17:16, 16 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
Dear User:Bbb23, I am open again and did some editing today. Thanks.Salarabdolmohamadian (talk) 19:30, 17 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
Good! If you have problems in the future, please let me know. Best of luck.--Bbb23 (talk) 19:32, 17 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Dear User:Bbb23,

This has happened again. I have been blocked by you, while you did not intend to block me, I can say.Salarabdolmohamadian (talk) 18:12, 7 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Dear User:Bbb23, Thank you. All set.Salarabdolmohamadian (talk) 18:35, 7 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

This time I made a technical change giving you the special permission "IP block exempt". This should not happen again.--Bbb23 (talk) 18:38, 7 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Crossroads (play)

edit

Hello, Salarabdolmohamadian. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Crossroads (play), for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Edits to List of people from Palo Alto

edit

Please be sure to add a citation, if you are adding new information about someone. The person you added to this list does not show in their WP article that they have a relationship to the city, and a quick google search did not show anything obvious. Please add the person back once you find a citation to establish this relationship. Jooojay (talk) 03:29, 26 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

List of plays directed by Ingmar Bergman moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, List of plays directed by Ingmar Bergman, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Category:Lists of works by Bahram Beyzai

edit

I have been away for the last month or so and, as a result, was unable to respond to your question here any earlier. What I meant by "they impede navigation" was that the categories forced readers to click through an extra layer of categorization before they could reach the bibliographies. While that could be useful if there existed multiple lists of works by Beyzai, it is unnecessary at a time when only one such list exists. I hope this clarifies my intention, and please ping me if you have any other questions. -- Black Falcon (talk) 19:49, 14 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:List of Iranologists

edit

Hello, Salarabdolmohamadian. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "List of Iranologists".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
