Proposed deletion of MICM Music Dataset

edit

The article MICM Music Dataset has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No independent evidence of notability. Also promotion of own research and publications (WP:SELFCITE)

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Using your own research and publications (WP:SELFCITE)

edit

Hello Sabemalek, while contributions from topic experts are appreciated, Wikipedia is no venue to popularize your own research and publications. Please make sure to read WP:SELFCITE (a part of Wikipedia's broader "conflict of interest" guideline). When in doubt, it would be generally better to propose link additions, and similar edits that solely focus on your own work, on the articles' respective talkpage instead of adding them yourself. You can use Template:edit request in signed talkpage messages to make such suggestions regarding your own work and to ask for an uninvolved volunteer review. Please feel free to ask, if you have further questions or post for advice at WP:Teahouse, a good forum for new editors. Best regards. GermanJoe (talk) 12:52, 5 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Aside from a possible conflict of interest, the main point for Wikipedia is the availability of independent reliable sources to establish a topic's "notability" in Wikipedia's sense of the term. Such sources should not only be authored by yourself, but also by other experts to show that it has been discussed in the wider academic community or by other reliable publications.
