I'm really sad about WH's death

Hi Mags. I know how you might be feeling right now. I am very sad as well. May Whitney Houston's soul rest in peace. She was a true queen, a true legend. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 03:45, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

I'm crying Jivesh. I feel I should die too. Whitney was my saviour. I can't believe she's gone. Ryōga Hibiki (talkcontribs) 03:55, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
I can perfectly understand your feelings. Be brave. Whitney will be remembered for years and years. Trust me. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 04:05, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

May she rest in peace :( I can imagine her standing beside God and smiling at us. OOH WHITNEY! It's morning here and believe me or not, around 3:20 AM in the morning, I saw a dream. I saw somebody's death. I don't know who it is or what happened to them though. Now it makes sense... Ryōga Hibiki (talkcontribs) 04:45, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

Agreed. I know you feel depressed (I've been in those shoes several times), but things are slowly going to brighten. She was an influence on all contemporary pop stars. Hi

Hi Mags, it's been a LONG time since the last time we chat; I didnt even know you retired? what happened did you loose interest in the project? What's going on with you life? I know you are not very active but I hope you see this and eventually respond :D Regards. Frcm1988 (talk) 21:12, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi Chris! Yes, I'm afraid I lost interest in editing Wikipedia articles. I'm active at Wikia atm. Life's going well, and I hope yours is too :) I can't thank you enough for everything you've done for me while I was here. Ryōga Hibiki (talkcontribs) 04:05, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
I also had those periods where I lost the interest, right now I havent edited much since December, with my new job I hardly have time, and the free time I have I prefer to spend it in other things. Which wikia are you editing? lol, this is a dejavu, that's how we lost CarpetCrawler :( Well at least I hope we don't loose contact and communicate every once in a while :D By the way did you saw any episode of Magic Knight Rayearth. Regards. Frcm1988 (talk) 00:24, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
I really don't like editing here Chris. No, I haven't seen any episodes of MKR, but I did see Rurouni Kenshin a bit. Also, Maison Ikkoku, rewatched The Law of Ueki and InuYasha :D Ryōga Hibiki (talkcontribs) 07:36, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

Oh yeah, that whole pop music scene is kind of dead now. PS I don't like anime or manga much. And, I saw that Faith Hill is gonna come out with an album soon. I thought of you. Wow that's great. Does that mean any of those old google news articles? Or it has to specifically say Highbeam or something? Me too Jiv, missed you a lot :) I wanted to talk to you a long time ago but was very busy with assignments, projects and so on. I felt you'd be too :) Life's pretty normal atm. I entered college this year and am currently in my second semester. First semester was good and it went pretty fast. So good to hear from you. I decided not to go to university this year and missed a whole year. But I am happy. I took time to live life. I even went away from Wikipedia. Lol. There was a lot of confusion I badly needed to get rid of. I was unable to choose a job to do later. Lol. I think that now I know what I want to do or should I say "can only do" because my parents do not have enough financial resources to pay for my medical studies. So I have decided to go for a 3 year full time course on BSC Chemistry. Apart from this, life has been wonderful. I am currently working in football betting and I love it. :P Jivesh1205 (Talk) 05:19, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
One of the reasons I retired was also that Jiv. I needed to communicate with nature and breath some fresh air, lol. I wanted to join Engineering in Computers but God forbid (and of course it's too expensive) :( Instead, he put me into Bachelors of Computer Applications course. It's a three-year course and after that I wish to pursue my Engineering. Ooh, you got into BSc Chemistry? Your favorite subject, isn't it? Life is good for me too. New friends and new teachers. I've told my friends about all you guys and they're like, "wow, you have friends outside India? That's cool!" :D Hey, are you still in touch with Avi? If you are, please convey my Christmas wishes to him. We miss him, don't we? :( Remember all the fun (and sometimes not-so-fun) times? I can never forget... 五代 (talk) 11:38, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

Salaam Bhai!,

Thank you so much for the xmas greetings. I wish you and your family the same. I'm shocked by the whole "Love and War" thing. I cant believe how well its done. I think Tamar's vibrant personality and powerful pipes have helped sell the song though she doesn't have the same level of technical control/ability as Toni. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 13:36, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

yes if you listen to them both live you can tell Tamar has a more powerful voice, but its tone isn't quite as full or as rich as Toni's. Also singing live, Tamar doesnt seem to have the same level of technical control as Toni. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 13:25, 25 December 2012 (UTC)

WikiProject Good Articles Recruitment Centre

Hello! Now, some of you might have already received a similar message a little while ago regarding the Recruitment Centre, so if you have, there is no need to read the rest of this. This message is directed to users who have reviewed over 15 Good article nominations and are not part of WikiProject Good articles (the first message I sent out went to only WikiProject members).

So for those who haven't heard about the Recruitment Centre yet, you may be wondering why there is a Good article icon with a bunch of stars around it (to the right). The answer? WikiProject Good articles will be launching a Recruitment Centre very soon! The centre will allow all users to be taught how to review Good article nominations by experts just like you! However, in order for the Recruitment Centre to open in the first place, we need some volunteers:

  • Recruiters: The main task of a recruiter is to teach users that have never reviewed a Good article nomination how to review one. To become a recruiter, all you have to do is meet this criteria. If we don't get at least 5-10 recruiters to start off with (at the time this message was sent out, 2 recruiters have volunteered), the Recruitment Centre will not open. If interested, make sure you meet the criteria, read the process and add your name to the list of recruiters. (One of the great things about being a recruiter is that there is no set requirement of what must be taught and when. Instead, all the content found in the process section is a guideline of the main points that should be addressed during a recruitment session...you can also take an entire different approach if you wish!) If you think you will not have the time to recruit any users at this time but are still interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still add your name to the list of recruiters but just fill in the "Status" parameter with "Not Available".
  • Co-Director: The current Director for the centre is me (Dom497). Another user that would be willing to help with some of the tasks would be helpful. Tasks include making sure recruiters are doing what they should be (teaching!), making sure all recruitments are archived correctly, updating pages as needed, answering any questions, and distributing the feedback form. If interested, please contact me (Dom497).
  • Nominators, please read this: If you are not interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still help. In some cases a nominator may have an issue with an "inexperienced" editor (the recruitee) reviewing one of their nominations. To minimize the chances of this happening, if you are fine with a recruitee reviewing one of your nominations under the supervision of the recruiter, please add your name to the list at the bottom of this page. By adding your name to this list, chances are that your nomination will be reviewed more quickly as the recruitee will be asked to choose a nomination from the list of nominators that are OK with them reviewing the article.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing this program bring new reviewers to the Good article community and all the positive things it will bring along.

A message will be sent out to all recruiters regarding the date when the Recruitment Centre will open when it is determined. The message will also contain some further details to clarify things that may be a bit confusing.--Dom497 (talk)

JA linking

Apparently we're not supposed to link to the JA wiki with :ja's, even though we can! The WP:MJ argument was something along the lines of 'if it's important enough it'll have a page', and I was asked to get rid of the one I had on Kumi Koda discography as linking doesn't provide much context for an average reader. --Prosperosity (talk) 13:36, 8 June 2014 (UTC)

self pub

per SELFPUB they are reliable sources only for non promotional content about the self publisher in the self publisher's article. In this case, the content was promotional content about people other than the publisher in an article that is not the article about the self publisher. So, here's your answer on Streaming services in Japan. They don't exist yet! It's been a really long time....

I just wanted to leave you a comment after all this .... years? Has it been that long? (My God the user interface has changed a lot since I was active here, very confusing) How are you? I dont know how to call you anymore Mags? Novice? Ryoga? It is great to see you editing actively again even though your interests are different this time :) Regards. Frcm1988 (talk) 08:28, 20 August 2014 (UTC)

So Mags it is then. Yes I think I remember something about Ranma, is he the one that turns into a little pig? I don't think the other was broadcasted here, at least I haven't heard about it before. Everything is fine with me, I havent edited much since mid-2012, and I dont think I will ever going to edit in the same level I did during the 2009-2010 period, I quit my previous job in early 2013 and then I got the one I have right now where I have better hours. (Actually is the same amount of hours but I dont have to take the work to my home to finish it) Right now Im in vacations for 2 weeks, so I decided to see what was going on here. So what made you return here? I thought you didn't like it anymore? Frcm1988 (talk) 01:12, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

Mami Kawada

Hello. From looking at Prosperosity's talk page, I see that you're quite active in editing Japanese music articles. I just need a bit of help with this article, which happens to be the article on my favorite singer. I've been working on it for almost three years, and after lots of work (which was mostly reorganization and copyedits, but also adding sources and regular updates after the original main editor, who is a Filipino like me and who've I've actually met in real life, retired) I feel that it's pretty close to GA-class (it's already a B-class article). Could you help me in expansion and possible reorganization, particularly the section on her musical style and influences? I feel that it still needs some more sources, but its content and structure is already quite similar to Supercell (band), a good article, so I feel that it's looking good.

As a postscript, have you heard of this artist before, and are you familiar with anison? Sad to say, she's not mainstream within Japan and she's not actually that well-known there (I know because I asked people when I visited Japan, and I had a hard time finding her CDs there). Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 15:19, 26 November 2014 (UTC)

@Narutolovehinata5: Hi there, the article's certainly in a good shape. I am afraid that I haven't heard about this artist before, but I do know Kotoko. I did manage to find a few interviews, if you are interested:
  • [2] Animate.tv
  • [3] Teena.ne.jp
  • [4] Pia
  • [5] Nagiasu (the anime website, I think)
  • [6] Natalie

Her single "Borderland" seems to have attention among critics:

  • [7] Billboard-Japan
  • [8] Hot Express

And, CD Journal articles. Maybe you can use these to expand her musical styles section? I can't read Japanese btw, sempaiProsperosity translates them for me. Hope you find the sources useful. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you need help :) I'm not that familiar with anime song performers. I do know Yoko Ishida, Maaya Sakamoto, and ClariS and I really love their works. Protoculture Addicts

Good news. I was able to get 20 odd issues of this shortly after your request. If you still need the KOR scans, I'll do them as soon as they arrive. I have issues 22-27,29-40 and 42-26 coming from one seller (plus some more Animerica's to add to my expanding early collection) so that should cover the three issues you specified as well as any other coverage that may be there.SephyTheThird (talk) 00:32, 16 December 2014 (UTC)

They arrived quicker than I expected. #23 is actually missing, or rather it was listed, but wasn't in the photo. However even taking that into consideration the major feature is in 22, with 24 and 25 having episode synopsis. I probably won't bother scanning the synopsis but if you wanted to rewrite them for an episode list at a later date I can do so then. A later issue has a review of "New KOR" and details of publishing issues with the anime, plus skimming the Animerica's that came from the same seller turns up another review. I'll scan them all together at the weekend. SephyTheThird (talk) 01:02, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
@SephyTheThird: Thanks so much!!! I'll be free starting this weekend, so I guess I'll have time to complete the article. Ryoga (talk) 15:09, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
I'm sorry for the delay but my scanner decided it didn't want to work. A shame, but it was an excuse for me to buy an A3 scanner/Printer so I'm now scanning all my anime mags so they can be put on my iPad for easier sourcing. More to come but this will get you started. SephyTheThird (talk) 19:30, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
@SephyTheThird: Oh, it's okay. I'm in no hurry (till December 31 probably, lol). Thank you so much for the scans! Ryoga (talk) 11:18, 23 December 2014 (UTC)

I don't have iTunes on my laptop and Recochoku doesn't seem to have it. EDIT: Wait, is she releasing two songs or just one? Is this the song? What is its title? TWL Questia check-in

Hello!

You are receiving this message because The Wikipedia Library has record of you receiving a one-year subscription to Questia. This is a brief update to remind you about that access:

  • Make sure that you can still log in to your Questia account; if you are having trouble feel free to get in touch.
  • When your account expires you can reapply for access at WP:Questia.
  • Remember, if you find this source useful for your Wikipedia work, make sure to include citations with links on Wikipedia: links to partner resources are one of the few ways we can demonstrate usage and demand for accounts to our partners. The greater the linkage, the greater the likelihood a useful partnership will be renewed.
  • Write unusual articles using this partner's sources? Did access to this source create new opportunities for you in the Wikipedia community? If you have a unique story to share about your contributions, email us and we can set up an opportunity for you to write a blog post about your work with one of our partner's resources.

Finally, we would greatly appreciate if you filled out this short survey. The survey helps us not only better serve you with facilitating this particular partnership, but also helps us discover what other partnerships and services The Wikipedia Library can offer.

Sakanaction song composition sections

Hey there! Would you be able to give me a hand with my articles on Sakanaction? I have the sheet music for a lot of their songs, but I've got no idea where to start on a composition section like what you did for Ashita, Haru ga Kitara. --Prosperosity (talk) 05:04, 17 May 2015 (UTC)

@Prosperosity: Yes, of course sempai! I was just about to ask you if I could add the information. I'd have to listen to their songs before I start though. Do you have any specific article you'd like to begin with? Ryoga (talk) 16:38, 19 May 2015 (UTC)
Awesome! I have the physical sheet music that I could take pictures of and send to you. I've got them in a couple of categories:
Songs I've made articles for already: Mikazuki Sunset, Sen to Rei, Native Dancer, Aruku Around
Songs I'll make articles for in the next month: Identity, Rookie, Bach no Senritsu o Yoru ni Kiita Sei Desu, Endless
Songs I'll make articles for eventually: Boku to Hana, Yoru no Odoriko
Songs I might be able to make articles for, but I dunno: Shiranami Top Water, Word, Sample, Nigh Fishing Is Good
Songs I'll make articles for eventually that I don't have the sheet music for: Music, Aoi, Inori, Goodbye, Eureka, Hasu no Hana, Sayonara wa Emotion
I'm taking my time to do them, so whatever's easiest for you! --Prosperosity (talk)
What about Sen to Rei first? That seems to be their first charting single. Then we should go for Mikazuki Sunset as it sounds too cool :D Ryoga (talk) 12:24, 20 May 2015 (UTC)
Sure! Where should I send the sheet music? --Prosperosity (talk) 10:57, 21 May 2015 (UTC)
@Prosperosity: Does Wikipedia Mail allow uploads? If it doesn't, you can send it to novice7here@yahoo.com. Or, if you have like a website that sells/hosts it, that'd be enough. Ryoga (talk) 11:21, 21 May 2015 (UTC)
Did you get my email? --Prosperosity (talk) 01:51, 24 May 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, thanks! Sorry I didn't check it sooner. Ryoga (talk) 05:39, 24 May 2015 (UTC)
Sempai, would it be okay if I did the section next week? I have an important exam coming up, so I hope you don't mind :) Ryoga (talk) 06:03, 24 May 2015 (UTC)
I'm in no rush! Take your time! --Prosperosity (talk) 11:01, 24 May 2015 (UTC)

Sheet musicy stuff

I've got a tiny bit more time lately to do Wiki things lately! I thought I'd finally finish my work on Documentaly and its singles. If you've got some time, would you mind looking over the sheet music for them?

How's it going lately, btw? --Prosperosity (talk) 13:25, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

Hey sempai! I'm doing good, I guess lol. Lots of work, filing application sheets for colleges and such. Life's becoming a bit boring these days :D
You can send them to me sempai, but it might take some time. Like I said, all the paperwork is killing me. I guess I'll become free by mid-September. Btw, how have you been? You've been very busy, I think. Ryoga (talk) 11:43, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
Super busy! I've not even had time for one of my jobs. I'm really sick with a cold, but apparently I'm legally not entitled to sick days at work until I've been there for six months, which is super crazy. --Prosperosity (talk) 05:24, 28 August 2015 (UTC)
Ouch, cold sucks! Ouch again, crazy job rules lol. It's almost the same here, they grant you day off, however you have to either submit some medical proof you're sick or get your pay cut by a small amount :( Fortunately, I haven't started working yet hehe :P Ryoga (talk) 12:20, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
@Prosperosity: Btw sempai, "Identity" looks great! Ryoga (talk) 12:26, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
Thanks! I'm trying to power through as many of these articles as I can before I get super busy again, lol. --Prosperosity (talk) 13:52, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
@Prosperosity: I'm jealous sempai :P I wish I could do that. I hardly get time to go even view my Facebook page. All I do is listen to music :( I guess I'm too stressed out. Btw, hope you're feeling better now. Ryoga (talk) 11:19, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, recovering slowly! --Prosperosity (talk) 01:44, 2 September 2015 (UTC)
@Prosperosity: Good to know! Btw sempai, can you check Dreams Come True's latest compilation album's sales. I think it is around 708,000 copies. I might have miscalculated somewhere, so can you please check? Also, I think Motohiro Hata discography needs a sales update too, if you don't mind. As soon as I get a job, I'm going to subscribe to Oricon :P Ryoga (talk) 02:56, 2 September 2015 (UTC)
Sure, I'll check it when I get back home. --Prosperosity (talk) 02:28, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
707,777! --Prosperosity (talk) 10:03, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
Thanks sempai! That'd be 708,000 units, rounded. Ryoga (talk) 11:20, 3 September 2015 (UTC)

Unlocked (Alexandra Stan album)

Hello! Can you help me navigate on "オリコンランキング情報サービス「you大樹」". Oricon (in Japanese). Retrieved 23 September 2015. {{cite web}}: Unknown parameter |subscription= ignored (|url-access= suggested) (help); Unknown parameter |trans_title= ignored (|trans-title= suggested) (help) to find the sales of "Unlocked (Alexandra Stan album)"? The chart week that I need is on November 26, 2014! Thanks in advance!   Cartoon network freak (talk) 18:03, 1 October 2015 (UTC)

(not him, but I can help!) 3,859 first week copies, 17,053 total (between its August release date and January 2015, when it fell out of the top 300). Did you need the November 26 chart specifically? There doesn't seem anything special about that week in the charting history (it was at #177 then). --Prosperosity (talk) 18:45, 1 October 2015 (UTC)
@Cartoon network freak: ^There you go. I don't have access to Oricon :)
@Prosperosity: Thanks sempai. Btw, I thought Oricon monitored the top 200 albums/singles. Has it changed to top 300? Ryoga (talk) 03:19, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
Top 200 singles, top 300 albums. It's been this way since 2002/2003! --Prosperosity (talk) 03:30, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
Ouch, I guess I haven't paid much attention to that lol. I always thought it was top 200 singles/albums haha. Ryoga (talk) 03:41, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
Can you give me the links for all the Unlocked charting weeks? When you can't because you have other things to do, then send me only the chart week, where only the total sales are shown. Anyway, thanks for you speedy answer and good luck to your projects!   Cartoon network freak (talk) 14:46, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
@Cartoon network freak: Hey! There are no direct links to the charting weeks. You need to log in to the database to view the sales figures (just like Billboard or Music Week). Someone who doesn't have access to the db cannot view them and they don't have any option to either (about two or three years ago we could view the top 20 weekly albums and their sales through the main website, but they took it away). Ryoga (talk) 15:19, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
Can't you freeze the page, for example with freezepage.com? Cartoon network freak (talk) 16:01, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
@Cartoon network freak: Hmm, I don't think so. I personally haven't used the db so, I don't really know much haha. You should Prosperosity :) Ryoga (talk) 03:39, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
Input Error
You entered the address of a secure server (HTTPS). You can only freeze normal web pages (HTTP).
Plus an archiving service wouldn't work, because the archive bot would have to be logged in with my account. It'd be like archiving a personal Facebook feed or something. A web page doesn't have to be freely accessible to be citable! If it were, then citing books would be a big issue. --Prosperosity (talk) 10:00, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
Can you at least give me the charting week, when Unlocked had its total sales?   Cartoon network freak (talk) 12:09, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
The free info shows that it got to #21 in its first week and was in the top 300 for 17 weeks. According to the paid database, the album charted consistently from week 2014/09/08 to week 2014/12/01, when it dropped out for a month, then recharted from week 2015/01/05 to week 2015/01/26. Is that okay, or did you need anything else? --Prosperosity (talk) 03:48, 4 October 2015 (UTC)
(I'm sorry for disturbing you so much) It's okay, but isn't there a week, where the total sales are shown? I need it because I want to write an additional note to the Big-Tree source, such as Note: Login or register, then look for week XY. Cartoon network freak (talk) 4:52, 4 October 2015 (UTC)
Nope! The current week shows the total sales, but all of the archived sales just have the raw data. The album profile does, however. You can make a note to search for アンロックド by アレクサンドラ・スタン, product code VICP-65252 in the アーティスト&楽曲検索 (artist & song search). --Prosperosity (talk) 05:10, 4 October 2015 (UTC)
Okay! It's everything cleared now! Thx for your understanding and replying to my messages!   Cartoon network freak (talk) 6:30, 4 October 2015 (UTC)
