Thank you for registering! We hope that you find collaborative editing enjoyable. Wikipedia, an online encyclopedia that started in 2001, is free for all to use and edit within the guidelines and principles users have established and adhere to. Many of these principles and guidelines are listed below. Click on the link next to the images for more information. REMEMBER - each policy and/or guideline page has a discussion you can join to ask questions, add input and contribute your voice towards any current policy or guideline change underway! Join the discussion by going to the talkpage of the article. Please take a minute to view a number of quick start pages for an overview of how to work within these guidelines and more information to help you better understand the practices and procedures editors are using. These include: The Newcomers Manual and User:Persian Poet Gal/"How-To" Guide to Wikipedia.

Sometimes new editors become frustrated quickly and find their experience on Wikipedia less than enjoyable. This need not be. If you are having a difficult time for any reason, please feel free to ask me for assistance!

This is being posted on your Talk page where you can receive messages from other Wikipedians and discuss issues and respond to questions. At the end of each message you will see a signature left by the editor posting. This is done by signing with four ~~~~ or by pressing or in the editing interface tool box, located just above the editing window (when editing). Do not sign edits that you make in the articles themselves as those messages will be deleted, but only when using the article talkpage, yours or another editor's talkpage. If you have any questions or face any initial hurdles, feel free to contact me on my talk page and I will do what I can to assist or give you guidance and contact information.

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Richooker edit

A tag has been placed on User:Richooker requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Anthony Bradbury has left a concerning message on my site here and i am no loner able to see my history.
Can you please see if there is a real support i can pay for to restore my page.
All i wanted to do was rename "Richooker" (User) to Richard A Hooker as a Wiki can be searched for by my name. Where is the Wiki i created for myself and after taking all the hours of work spending to create my history? Richard A Hooker (talk) 17:25, 29 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
The page has been deleted, because you were not following the guidelines at Wikipedia:User pages. We are volunteer editors, and no one should be accepting payment to restore a page. GoingBatty (talk) 20:54, 29 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia Richooker should not be deleted. i wanted to change the "richooker" name to my real name, "Richard A. Hooker" edit

i wanted to change the "richooker" name to my real name, "Richard A. Hooker" Richard A Hooker (talk) 15:51, 29 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I understand you wanted to change the name of your user page so it looked more like a Wikipedia article. However, using your user page as a web host is inappropriate, as described in the section above. GoingBatty (talk) 16:41, 29 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

need help edit

Is there someone i can hire to edit and complete my Wiki page? Richard A Hooker (talk) 15:54, 29 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Probably, but paid editors do not represent the Wikipedia editing community, and look out for scams - see Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Scam warning. GoingBatty (talk) 16:44, 29 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Richard A Hooker, I hope you realize that none of the pages in Wikipedia are "yours", not even your User pages. We are here to improve articles on notable subjects, this is not LinkedIn and if you are only here to publicize yourself and your career, you won't last very long as an editor. We are here to improve the encyclopedia, not to write about ourselves. Liz Read! Talk! 20:40, 29 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

October 2021 edit

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because the username, Richooker, matches the name of a well-known, living person.

If you are the person represented by this username, please note that the practice of blocking such usernames is to protect you from being impersonated, not to discourage you from editing Wikipedia. You may choose to edit under a new username (see information below), but keep in mind that you are welcome to continue to edit under this username.

If you choose to keep your current username, please send an email to info-en wikimedia.org including your real name and your Wikipedia username to receive instructions from our volunteer response team about account verification. Please do not send documentation without being requested to do so.

If you are not the person represented by this username, you are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our username policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you wish for your existing contributions to carry over under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" from their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a change of name request.
  3. Your requested new username cannot already be in use. Therefore, please check the list here to see if a name is taken prior to requesting a change of name.
Appeals: If, after reading the guide to appealing blocks you believe you were blocked in error, then you may appeal this block by adding {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this notice. Orange Mike | Talk 22:44, 29 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
