  • If you have already sent this message, it is possible that there was a problem receiving it. Please re-send it to permissions-en@wikimedia.org and let us know at the OTRS noticeboard that you have done so.

If we don't hear from you within one week, the file will be deleted. If we can help you, please feel free to ask at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 14:37, 4 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Richard Shelton. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Richard Shelton (actor), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Cabayi (talk) 09:25, 6 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

The point reqesting you propose changes is particularly relevant. Cabayi (talk) 09:27, 6 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Re-instating page

edit

Hi I need to discuss how to reinstate my page supported by facts. Please can you assist? Thank you Richard Shelton

(Came here from IRC-help) Ping Drmies since you were the one who removed the content. Best, Blablubbs|talk 21:29, 7 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Richard Shelton, there isn't much to discuss here. We're an encyclopedia, and what is entered here should be verified by proper secondary sources. What you had was not that. Please see WP:SECONDARY. Second, I'm sorry to say that it's not your page; it's an article on Wikipedia. If you want have a page, LinkedIn is the place to go. Third, if this is you (and if it isn't you I have to block you), you obviously have a conflict of interest, which has been pointed out to you an at least two occasions, and you don't seem to have done anything about it. Read the message and follow the links. For instance, your next edit should be to properly disclose that COI--if you don't do that, you might be blocked. After you do that, and after you've read the relevant policies, then we can talk, although it seems to me that the matter is not difficult: neutral content based on proper sources, and best practice is for COI editors to confine themselves to the article talk page. Good luck, Drmies (talk) 21:58, 7 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
