Draft UArchitects

Neutral tone UArchitects

Dear Rich Smith,

I have edited The Draft UArchitects page, giving it a neutral tone. And deleting the award section that made this page commercial, does this answer your previous remarks? Mrpinkwhite (talk) 10:21, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

Keith Francis Draft

Hi Rich:

Sorry to bother you but this "labor of love" regarding Keith Francis has been something I have wanted to do for many years. AS this is my "first round-up" I hope you will be patient with me. Regarding the 3 photos, two of them are from the Boston College Athletic Dept and I have an inquiry in already through the Media relations contact. The third picture Keith Francis3.jpg is from South Coast Today (which is the electronic version of the New Bedford Paper "The Standard Times". I will try to make contact with the Media director there. I did see that the newspaper has the statement: "Original content available for non-commercial use under a Creative Commons license". If I read the tutorial correctly this alone is not sufficient for acceptance by Wikipedia (can you verify that I got that right?).

Finally, I downloaded the sample letter that should be referred to Wikipedia commons, and I think I am supposed to ask someone at each of these places to fill-it-in. Did I get that right as well?

Again, sorry to bother you with Sophomoric questions.... I am a quick learner...

Hi Paul,
In relation to the Boston College photos, the media contact will need use the Commons release generator to confirm they release the photos under a free licence. They can do this by visiting the photo page on Commons and clicking the 'confirm copyright ownership by email' button. Please note that YOU are NOT allowed to do this, as you are not the copyright holder, that being said... they might not be able to either if they have licence the photo from the original photographer/
In relation to the South Coast Today image, the problem is they are not necessarily the ones who took the photo. In the Commons upload, you added a Bing URL as the source, this is unacceptable and needs to the the link to the page on South Coast Today where the image features, not withstanding that though, it's highly unlikely that the newspaper is the original photographer of the image.
Hope this helps
