Palaiyakkarar edit

Hi, this is regarding the addition of Sivagiri, Alagapuri and Elayirampannai palayams under the list of Maravar Palayams.

Sivagiri, Alagapuri and Elayirampannai were the three "vanniya" palayams of the south. The polegars were vanniyars and not from "Bania or Vannia subcaste of maravas". Please remove these palayams from the list of Maravar Palayams as this confuses the readers. I understand that you have quoted it from the website Princely states of India which inturn quotes K.Sridhar's book "History of Maravars". Please understand that this book is of recent origin (1970) and does not quote any government census or anyother reliable source.

Whereas that Sivagiri, Alagapuri and Elayirampannai polegars were Vanniyas by caste is mentioned in so many governement gazetters and district manuals of the british India and they base this information on the government census data.

Protection of Mukkulathor edit

Given there hasn't been a single reversion since the 29th December and there have been lots of constructive IP edits, I'm not really sure how protection of this article could possibly be appropriate. -- Eraserhead1 <talk> 22:02, 24 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Cultural differences aren't enough to make this an appropriate request as cultural differences are always outweighed by similarities. You can add lots of sources to this article while IP editors are also contributing :). -- Eraserhead1 <talk> 07:49, 25 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

page views edit

look at the number of page views for the 2011 election article. encouraging. --CarTick (talk) 15:28, 8 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

constituencies edit

i see you are trying to create constituencies list. please use http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamil_Nadu_legislative_assembly_election,_2006#Constituency_wise_results this as a model. we need to decide how much information we want to include before the election results are announced. --CarTick (talk) 15:43, 15 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

i would say, we could copy and paste the table from 2006 election. remove the constituencies which were discontinued, add the constituencies which were newly added. remove names and parties. then we could add the candidates and parties contesting in these constituencies as this information becomes available. but, this is a choice we need to make. in two months from now when the results are announced, we will only have the winner and runner-up in the table. --CarTick (talk) 15:53, 15 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

article in news edit

2011 census of India edit

could you please help me? there is a lot of interest in the article, but it is in a very bad state. all information can be found here http://www.censusindia.gov.in/2011-prov-results/prov_results_paper1.html. --CarTick (talk) 02:47, 4 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please have a look and help me with your feedbacks. I have ordered the candidates in the form of

  • Ruling alliance (DMK+).
  • Opposing alliance (AIADMK+).
  • Other recognised/ unrecognised parties alphabetically from state and national levels.
  • Independent candidates alphabetically.

The list will get expanded as I am working still on it.

I want to add the electoral symbols in the election box for each candidates, please help me with it.
