Request reason:
The pages I edited that have been flagged for copyright infringement are pages related to the author Nelson DeMille. I posted information (book synopses) directly from the author's website because I was expressly given permission to do so by the author's marketing team. I am fairly new to Wikipedia, so I only persisted after being warned of infringing copyright because I was confused and unsure how to show that I had official permission to post the content in question. I realize now that I should not have persisted. Can a kind person unblock me and explain specifically how I would get the content posted on those pages again and provide official proof of permission to do so? I can easily obtain proof of permission, but I am unsure of what form it needs to be in and where I would need to put it. Thank you to anyone who may be reading this for your time/effort. - I understand Wikipedia can be confusing, but I'd ask you to not simply proceed when you're notified that there's some confusing issue but to stop and ask for clarification. That might be a little slower, but it will be seen as much less disruptive.
- Regarding the book synopses, it's not enough that you have permission; to be used on Wikipedia, the copyright holder must grant everybody the right to re-use and modify the content for any purposes, including commercial purposes, and release it under a license that is compatible with Wikipedia's Creative Commons BY-SA 3.0 License. See WP:Donating copyrighted content and WP:Requesting copyright permission for advice on how to provide evidence of the licensing, both from a copyright owner's perspective and from the perspective of someone asking the copyright holder to release the content. Please note that there may be other issues beyond copyright; a synopsis published by the author is not an independent source and would be unsuitable for anything beyond a simple plot summary, and even then it may need to be reworded. For example, the synopsis you added to The Panther (novel) seemed to be meant to make the reader want to find out more by buying the book; it did not give an adequate understanding of the plot.
