Extended-confirmed restriction

Hi RVBILLIS-99,

I have noticed that you have recently edited pages related to the Russo-Ukrainian War. Please note that, due to community consensus documented at WP:GS/RUSUKR, only extended-confirmed editors may make such edits.

When in doubt, please assume that a topic is covered by this restriction. We call this "broadly construed". If this still leaves you unsure about whether a topic is affected by the restriction, feel free to ask on my talk page.

This is not widely announced to newcomers, so I'm not blaming or condemning you for not knowing about this. I'm also not saying that your editing has been problematic in any other way. Your edit may well have been perfectly fine in all other regards, yet may have been removed for this reason.

Additionally, Wikipedia's Arbitration Committee has recognized "Eastern Europe or the Balkans" as a generally contentious topic area. Don't worry: The restriction to extended-confirmed editors is about the Russo-Ukrainian War, not the entirety of Eastern Europe and the Balkans. The box below contains standardized advice for everyone.

• All edits about Eastern Europe and the Balkans, by all users, need to be done with extra care.

Proposed deletion of File:$NEWSP.jpg

The file File:$NEWSP.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NFCC3 as excessive use of non-free content. File:$NEWSP-2023.jpg is already used for the same purposes in the same section, and seeing both images does not increase the reader's understanding of the subject. The difference between the appearance in 2018 and 2023 is not subject to sourced commentary.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Dear Thriftycat,

The reason why the command "$NEWSP" exists is probably because it is a command used for the channel to update the news description, and it is used every time new information gets used. The reason why I chose two images is because the old layout (2007-2021) is no longer in use and has been replaced with a new layout. The reason why I would upload these images is because it is not often seen sometimes (unless if news at description has a grammar error). The reason why I putted two images is to compare the layouts and to prove that the layouts were in fact changed in 2021, including with the logo.
