Image copyright problem with File:Aaliyah-UltimateCollection.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Aaliyah-UltimateCollection.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 19:17, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:ACinderellaStory-Soundtrack.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:ACinderellaStory-Soundtrack.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:18, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

License tagging for File:Hoku-ListenUp.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Hoku-ListenUp.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 00:08, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Hey there

Saw your name appear on my watchlist on a template you edited recently. Good to see you still being active and contributing strongly. Hope everything's good with you. Best wishes. Acalamari 02:19, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Heh, thanks: I've been here some 2 1/2 years myself now. I'm not as active as I was in 2007, but I'm still around. Glad to know everything's fine with you. Acalamari 02:27, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

DK Template name order.

When listing band members in infoboxes and templates, the names should be in the order they joined or were picked. I was doing that (Look Here). IHelpWhenICan (talk) 07:36, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

Recent unwatched changes

What would you think of a recent changes page for articles with few watchers? When you patrol recent changes, do you find that the rare/obscure articles (which typically have fewer editors watching them) are in greater danger of having vandalism missed, or is this usually caught? When you come across vandalism that would probably have been missed, is it usually on obscure pages? I have a Tracking watchers on recent changes proposal going, but given that I don't do too much recent changes patrolling, I thought it might be a good idea to ask a couple of people who do for input. –MT 22:22, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Parodies, Hannah Montana

Greetings. I noticed this edit where you removed the somewhat questionable inclusion of a Hannah Montana parody. [1] I was at least of two minds here, and was curious about your reasoning.

A couple thoughts. Isn't a significant parody worth including? (Bored of the Rings is mentioned in the Lord of the Rings article.) Parodies are protected works of art in the United States, in part because they are an expression of free speech. Doesn't that suggest that parodies are valid forms of critique for Wikipedia?

Where should a parody be mentioned? Robot Chicken is a long tedious article listing 135 guest stars by name. Hannah Montana isn't mentioned. So, if the parody were to be mentioned, is that fertile ground for it? Regards, Piano non troppo (talk) 04:57, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Hilary Duff CoCl import.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Hilary Duff CoCl import.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Σxplicit 16:42, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Succession boxes

From my understanding, the standard format across articles is that albums should only be listed once in the succession box. The succession box is supposed to flow through the albums from one to the next, so adding multiple entries for the same album becomes redundant and circular. All of the dates an album was number one should be listed in the succession box on its own page. The boxes across articles are not supposed to list multiple runs at number one. Once an album is number one, only the first album that replaces it should be listed as the subsequent album. So, the succession box should represent each successive run of an individual album. However, the policy may have changed and if it has please let me know.-5- (talk) 22:41, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

I'm not saying that it didn't precede it, but if you read what I posted above the Billboard 200 succession box represents each successive run of an individual album. So, an album only is on the succession box once, it is not repeated. See Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975) and Frampton Comes Alive! for example. This is the way it is done throughout all of the articles that are about Billboard 200 number-one albums. If you take a look through all of them you will see.-5- (talk) 03:46, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

If one is reading through the succession box from the beginning to the end there aren't supposed to be any repeats listed, since albums are only supposed to be listed once. So once Jagged Little Pill becomes number one, that starts its run. The next album to start its run after Jagged Little Pill would be the album that succeeds Jagged Little Pill in the succession box. If Jagged Little Pill becomes number one again, it doesn't get listed again in the succession box because it's not starting a new run, it is continuing it's original run. All of the dates that Jagged Little Pill was number one get listed in the succession box for Jagged Little Pill, and all of those dates are part of the individual run for that album. In No Code's case it was number one for two consecutive weeks, and that consists of its run. The album that began its run before No Code was Beats, Rhymes and Life, not jagged Little Pill. Without looking I believe Jagged Little Pill began its run sometime in late 1995 or early 1996 and reappeared and was knocked off the top a few times. But, each time it reappears it doesn't get listed again because it only had one run on the charts, not multiple runs. I hope that makes sense.-5- (talk) 04:04, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

It doesn't matter. A run is a run whether it is consecutive or not. I would recommend looking through the Billboard 200 number one album articles to see what I'm talking about. I'm not pulling this out of thin air. I believe this is how it has been done for over a year. I would also recommened that you take a look at the album articles you edited and see how the succession box flowed originally before you changed it. That is how the chart succession box is supposed to flow. Again, it there has been a change in this policy then please inform me, otherwise I haven't noticed any other album articles conforming to the way you're doing it.-5- (talk) 04:18, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Each box should look like this:

Preceded by
Dangerous Minds (soundtrack)
by Various Artists
Billboard 200 number-one album
October 7October 20, 1995
February 24March 1, 1996
March 16April 5,1996
April 13May 3, 1996
August 24September 13, 1996
Succeeded by
Preceded by Billboard 200 number-one album
September 14–27, 1996
Succeeded by

Daydream was the next album to start a run after Jagged Little Pill started its run. The last album to start a run before No Code was Beats, Rhymes and Life, not Jagged Little Pill. The preceding album in the box is the album that last started a run on the chart, not the last album to end its run. That is the way it is done throughout album articles.-5- (talk) 04:34, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

I understand, however I'm coming from the perspective of maintaining article consensus. This is the way it's done throughout other album articles, so I want to honor that. If you have an issue with how it is done, and would like to see it changed thorughout articles, you can always go to the discussion pages here or here and start a discussion.-5- (talk) 04:47, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Paramore Discography

There's no question that the album has been confirmed, but it has not been RELEASED. The discography page says "ReleasED" not "Planned to be released." The fact is that you are violating WP:CRYSTAL because it's POSSIBLE that something COULD happen (legal challenges, technological challenges, etc.) that COULD possibly prevent the album from being released. You also made these edits aware of this, as it is specifically commented in the code. This amounts to vandalism... Wikiwikikid (talk) 14:14, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Here We Go Again Single Cover

Hi QuasyBoy. I've recently noticed that the single cover I uploaded for the article Here We Go Again was deleted. However, it seems that you have uploaded a new version under the same name (File:DemiLovatoHereWeGoAgain.jpg). I would like to know what was wrong with the version I uploaded and why was it deleted. Thank you for reading this message. Bull Borgnine (talk) 21:24, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

I still don't see how it was necessary to reupload the cover. If it was redirected at first and then created (again); then it could have been used in the new article too. Just because an uploaded image is left orphaned does not mean it has to be deleted or is not usable. The only problem I see was rewriting the article section in the fair-use rationale from Here We Go Again (album) to Here We Go Again (song). I am sure you knew what you were doing, but right know, I do not understand your reasoning for having done this. Bull Borgnine (talk) 05:14, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
You're right, there might have been something wrong after I uploaded it. Anyway, thank you for quickly replying. I just needed that cleared up. Bull Borgnine (talk) 05:26, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Andrea Edwards

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Andrea Edwards. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Andrea Edwards. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:21, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Succession box for UK number one albums

Hello, can you look into these edits: [2], [3], [4]. Do you think that the succession box for UK number one albums is "unnecessary and inappropriate" in that article? It is the same box that is used, for example, in Songs of Faith and Devotion and many other, if not all, articles about chart-topping albums. But someone keeps removing the box and I just don't get it. Garik 11 (talk) 20:57, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. — ξxplicit 19:18, 15 November 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Jesse Draper

The article Jesse Draper has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

uncited, low EV, spotty content, writing errors.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nezzadar [SPEAK] 01:32, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

Seemed funny there should be no wikipedia article on a Disney Channel film! Lol. --IP69.226.103.13 (talk) 08:49, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

RE: Licky (Under the Covers)...

Could you please explain this edit? The song does not pass notability concerns, and by policy, should be redirected to the artist/album... - Adolphus79 (talk) 03:25, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

Template:Savage Steve Holland

You redirected Template:Savage Steve Holland to the article Savage Steve Holland on November 29. I have reverted it back to the original template. Redirecting a template to an article is not the way to remove it if you think it shouldn't exist. When it was redirected, there were errors on Eek! The Cat which still uses the template. If you think it should be deleted, either, nominate the template for speedy deletion under one of the template criteria, or propose its deletion at Wikipedia:Templates for discussion. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! --Mysdaao talk 19:44, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

Hello QuasyBoy! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 9 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Naturally cover

The close up of Selena cover is only the UK Single Cover, therfore why it was sent to Fascination Records, as was the UK Cover for Miley Cyrus's The Time of Our Lives (EP). As stated in the UK cover, a DVD is included in that version, and is not included in the U.S. The smoke one is the correct cover for the U.S. Candyo32 (talk) 19:32, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:PepperAnnlogo.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:PepperAnnlogo.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 20:57, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
