Speedy deletion nomination of User:Progress Capital Advisors

edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. A tag has been placed on User:Progress Capital Advisors requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because your account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 17:08, 30 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

We understand why we were blocked and apologize for our misunderstanding as we thought we were supposed to add a description to the user page. We have no intention of self-promotion, we want to write informed articles and make edits where necessary on existing ones.

Decline reason:

This makes matters worse, not better. You haven't addressed your violation of WP:USERNAME or WP:COI and now you indicate you have a shared account ("We"); shared accounts are not permitted here. Nor did you tell us what you plan to write about instead, if unblocked. Yamla (talk) 17:28, 30 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you Yamla. I am a first time user trying to understand and should have done more research regarding setting up a new account. It is not shared, only me. The username is based off the email address used to create the Wikipedia account. I genuinely thought the User Page had to have a description for the username that was used. I am happy to change my username if allowed.
The plan is to write articles pertaining to the commercial real estate industry specifically for mortgages/loans and lending. The market is ever changing so I'd like to also contribute to existing articles. Progress Capital Advisors (talk) 17:59, 30 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

As per below. You need to specifically address your violations of policy. 331dot (talk) 22:51, 30 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Another admin will review this. You still haven't addressed your violation of WP:USERNAME (that is, you haven't picked an appropriate username). You still haven't addressed your violation of WP:COI. You are unlikely to be unblocked to write about that subject area, given your conflict of interest. --Yamla (talk) 18:48, 30 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
