Stubs edit

Thank you for your recent edit to Unrein, but please take care not to add {{stub}} to an article which already has a specific stub tag, and remember that all stub tags go at the very end of the article, after all other templates etc - see WP:ORDER. Thanks. PamD 23:29, 2 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:Ue-Chan,Japanese bassist and current member of rock band Maximum The Hormone.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Ue-Chan,Japanese bassist and current member of rock band Maximum The Hormone.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:39, 22 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Nirvana cover art images edit

I need to let you know that if you make cover art images for albums and singles too big that they may not be considered fair use for Wikipedia and could be deleted. The reason I made some of them slightly bigger was so that they would appear as pop-ups/page previews for readers who are signed out. They don't need to be any bigger than that. Your risking getting them deleted. QuintusPetillius (talk) 11:20, 28 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Don't worry, on Wikipedia is somebody called "DatBot" (he really is a bot), and he reduce size of non-free images. Portalomaniac.669 (talk) 11:30, 28 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Kids with Guns Promo.PNG edit

A tag has been placed on File:Kids with Guns Promo.PNG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused duplicate or lower-quality copy of another file on Wikipedia having the same file format, and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Disambiguation link notification for January 20 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detectedthat when you recently edited 7th Symphony (album), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Amazon. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 05:51, 20 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Track listings do not need sources per MOS:ALBUM edit

Hello. Please stop tagging parts of track listings with citation needed tags. Per MOS:ALBUM, track listings do not need sources because it is expected they are taken from the liner notes of an album—either the physical copy of whichever edition, or the digital liner notes. Also, per WP:AFFILIATE, we should not link to online stores where somebody can purchase an album, as this can be seen as encouragement to buy a product, therefore I'm not sure what sort of citation you think one should provide on these album articles you've tagged—liner notes can be cited but it would be hard to do that for iTunes versions of albums and so on. Regardless, as stated, we have a widely followed style guide that tells us we don't need to source them, so you don't need to tag them. Also, please stop using small tags in track listings like this per MOS:SMALL, and please do not add citations in actual section headings. Thank you. Ss112 13:56, 24 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I've noticed this too, and echo what Ss112 is saying. Please follow this advice. Thank you. Sergecross73 msg me 14:49, 24 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Getting a bit concerned here. I've caught you adding (unusable) sources in track lists again. Is there something you're finding confusing about the concept of "track lists don't need sources"? What you keep doing is not seen as helpful. If you refuse to stop, then your account will be temporarily blocked. Sergecross73 msg me Sergecross73 msg me 20:10, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
ok Portalomaniac.669 (talk) 20:12, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ok, but many articles have sources for tracklist. Even for standard versions. Also by having source there is more verifictaion on subject Portalomaniac.669 (talk) 20:15, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Just because you observe something on Wikipedia doesn't mean you observed the right way to do it. Definitely delete any track lists you see that are wrong or fake, but sources aren't necessary for this. Most everything requires sources on Wikipedia, but a few thing don't. This is one of them. Another one are basic plot summaries of films or video games.
Track lists are pretty simple and straightforward. There's not very many instances of them being substantially wrong. It's not something you need to be spending time with. Please stop and work on something else. Thanks. Sergecross73 msg me 20:23, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
