Help me!

Please help me with... My article on Bill King - a candidate for Mayor of Houston was rejected as the reviewer said that although there were lots of references, "none of them are particularly high quality" I edited, removed references from Amazon.com, Wikipedia, and reduced the references from his website to only one for bio purposes. I added additional numerous, reliable, secondary sources that discuss him and updated the images. I don't know what else to do to get the article approved and active.

If no other sources exist, it's rather unlikely there can be an article. Merely running in an election does not make someone notable, he needs significant in depth coverage in independent reliable sources. Praxidicae (talk) 19:58, 23 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

The person in question is not merely a candidate but has previously served as mayor of a Texas city. He lost the election in 2015 in the closest election in Houston's history. He has had significant in-depth coverage from numerous reliable independent secondary sources. Additionally, in the interest of informing the voters, this info should be made available, from an impartial source rather than the campaign website. --PinkAuthor (talk) 20:13, 23 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Being the mayor of any city doesn't automatically equate to notability, so you'll still have to provide those sources. Praxidicae (talk) 20:26, 23 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

The reason left by Legacypac was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: Fails WP:NPOL and this is a thinly disguised campaign add
