Please help! yikes References trouble!
I have no idea how to format those correctly, can you please give input on my biography for this kid?
Please and thank you! hope you can help
(Accertion) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Accertion (talk • contribs) 13:38, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
- It looks like the article was deleted by an administrator. An example of a properly formatted reference is Then, in the references section of your article, put the tag reflist and the references will automatically appear there.
- I recommend you see WP:Referencing for beginners for information about referencing. If you still have questions after reading that, let me know. :) Thanks. Also, dont forget to sign your posts by typing four tildes (~) Pianotech (talk) 14:15, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
Talkback
Thanks so much for taking the time to reply to my thread the other day asking for advice on my first wiki article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Wbhendrix/LifeJive_Radio). I've updated the article with more references. Could you please tell me if i have enough now? thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by wbhendrix (talk • contribs)

Working on WP:FEED
Hey, thanks for helping out. One tip I have with this is when you're replying to a query. It would be great if you could add a Template:Talkback template to the user's talk page to notify them they have new messages, like this:
~~~~
Produces this:
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the Talkback or Tb template.
Chevymontecarlo - alt 11:46, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
This lets the user know that they have new messages at WP:FEED. The link bit at the end is basically just the exact section where you've replied on the page. Of course, you do not have to place talkback templates, but they're very useful and can help the users out more because otherwise they might not know they have new messages.
To get the link bit into the talkback template, copy and paste the last part of the URL after adding your message:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:FEED #http:.2F.2Fen.wikipedia.org.2Fwiki.2FUser:Gadgetsmiss.2FLogiPen
I hope you understand, and of course you don't have to do this. But it'd be very helpful. If you have any questions, please send me a message here. Chevymontecarlo - alt 11:46, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
- Ah, just realised you already do this. Sorry :( Well done though! Chevymontecarlo - alt 11:50, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
Signatures
- Hey thanks anyway, lol! :) Actually, I got the idea from you a couple of weeks ago. You put a tb on my page when you left feedback on one of my articles. I thought it was a good idea so I started doing the same thing. :) You know what I was wondering though? How do you get your fonts different colors in your signature/username, etc? Thanks :) Pianotech (talk) 12:09, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
- Well, to do that go to 'my preferences' at the top of any Wikipedia page whilst you're logged in, and then scroll down to the 'Signature' section. Below is an example of what kind of code you can use to create a new signature. I've set up my signature to include links to certain parts of my user space - for example my user page, user talk page, and contributions. It's a little confusing as to how to create a signature code for yourself, so you might want to ask elsewhere, however, I will add my signature code just to show you:
<span style="color:#0000FF">Chevy</span><span style="color:#FF0000">monte</span><span style="color:#008080">carlo</span>
The different numbers are different colours. Take a look here for the full choice of colours and colour codes. As I've said already, you're probably better off asking elsewhere about this but I hope you understand now :) Chevymontecarlo 15:13, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for the help! When I get some extra time over the weekend, I'm going to work on my signature. :) Pianotech (talk) 10:32, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, let me know how it goes. I changed my signature from the default after a suggestion from another user (they wanted a link to my contributions/talk page/etc.) and I wanted it to stand out, so I made it really colourful. Good luck with the changes. Chevymontecarlo 19:09, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
don't understand why you nuked the page i made for the slough feg guy? all the info is correct and compiled from last.fm which is a music service. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mookknow (talk • contribs) 01:05, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
- Didn't nuke it! :) Just tagged it for not having any references. Wikipedia guidelines require biographies of living persons to have verifiable references to establish notability and to make sure the information is correct. Without references, no one knows where the information in the article came from. Hope that helps... Pianotech (talk) 01:23, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
Fixed that "many undergraduates" sentence. Were there any other "weaselly" words that you saw in the article? Shearonink (talk) 11:03, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
I just fleshed-out the lead and added two images to the body of the article. I'd appreciate your taking a look at this latest version. If you think that Classic book now qualifies for a higher-rating (per http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Classic_book), please consider upgrading its quality-scale. If it doesn't now qualify, that would be useful for me to know as well. Thanks, Shearonink (talk) 15:44, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- Nevermind, Cb was just upgraded to the best it can achieve in its present form & at the present time by another editor(a B!). Thanks for all your help getting the article there. Shearonink (talk) 16:19, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- You are very welcome, glad I could help! :) Pianotech (talk) 21:17, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
Help with referencing
Hi,
You recently commented on an article that I am developing(Voices of Men). Could you please help me with the referencing aspect of it? I am a new user to posting articles on Wikipedia and would really embrace the help of someone experienced!
Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Amoede (talk • contribs) 17:33, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- Sure, glad to! :) Here is the example: "This is the sentence I want to reference"
See? What that will do is produce this:
"This is the sentence I want to reference"[1]
See how that added the number/footnote to the end of the sentence? Now, the second step is, in your == References == section of your article, put the tag reflist and now the urls of all your references will automatically appear there; you don't have to type them, because the reflist tag does all the work. I hope that helps. Feel free to ask if it's not clear. Also, a good read for beginners when it comes to referencing is wp:Referencing for beginners. Let me know if you have any more questions :) Pianotech (talk) 21:26, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
Thank you
To whom this may concern,
I really appreciate that you are helping with the article about Gustus. I had no idea that the article would be recommended for deletion so quick and I really thought I would have a few hours to try to figure out how to create the page and edit the content.
Very Respectfully, Ryan
Kiloseven (talk) 01:56, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
- No problem, Ryan, glad to help. I placed a hangon on it and immediately started sourcing the story. It did end up getting deleted, but the administrator who deleted it graciously restored it, for which I am very thankful. The article is still tagged for deletion, but not speedy; so it will have the benefit of a discussion first. :) Pianotech (talk) 01:59, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
- Looking back, since I was not the article's creator, I could have removed the speedy deletion tag.... Pianotech (talk) 02:22, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
R.E - Reply to request for feedback
Hi, I saw your reply to the request for feedback here. I would just like to say it's great that you try and be as honest as possible when replying to requests, but if you can please try and add links to Wikipedia help articles and the like, if you can. For example, WP:FEED takes you to the feedback forum. You can use links like WP:CITE, WP:Reliable references, and WP:TONE to help point the user in the right direction. Thanks for helping out at WP:FEED! Chevymontecarlo 09:05, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
- I thought I did! I often link to WP:Referencing for beginners for example when pointing out reference problems, etc... :) Pianotech (talk) 11:15, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
Hey there - thanks for your advice on my article The Climbers
I've added more information and more sources. What do you think of it now? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Marcushamblett (talk • contribs) 14:02, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
- You're on the right track! The BBC is a good, strong reference. I think if you can find one more verifiable reference like that one, the ref tag can be removed. :) Good job! Pianotech (talk) 14:07, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: FUR (band)
Hello Pianotech. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of FUR (band), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Review in the Guardian for one is at least enough for A7. PROD or take to AfD if required. Thank you. GedUK 19:49, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up and for the lesson learned. :) Much appreciated. Best, Pianotech (talk) 20:40, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
- I've found a link to the Guardian article. Will add the reference and tag for refimprove. Pianotech (talk) 21:00, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
Informing users that their page is up for speedy deletion
I've noticed that on pages you nominate for speedy deletion, like Jeff fishbach and FUR (band), that you didn't inform the arthur of the article that the page is nominated for speedy deletion. It's probably best that you inform the arthur of this in case that he/she wants to expand on the article, add references, etc.... When you place a speedy deletion tag on an article you can afterwards copy the appropriate warning code from the bottom of the pink sign and then paste that to the author's talk page, with a if it's their first article. You can also find a pretty good list of warnigs you can post on the user's talk page at WP:Template_messages/User_talk_namespace if they are multiple offenders or wrote articles that would constitute one of the warnings. Thank you. Battleaxe9872 Talk 22:09, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for the reminder. Indeed, I've forgotten to place notices on the user's talk page and will be more careful in the future. :) Pianotech 22:15, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
Thomas Morris (Composer)
You could be right, but it seems to have been speedily deleted before I could reply to you (it was overnight my time). Perhaps it was worth a hangon tag? Jimmy Pitt talk 10:02, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
Logo
Thanks for all your previous help! I am now trying to upload a logo to the page. I have done the first step and second steps, I think. I created the spot and wrote the file name
and then I also uploaded the file to wikipedia. I have not been able to figure out how to move the file on to the specific "Voices of Men" page. Any help is much appreciated! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Amoede (talk • contribs) 20:31, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
- You are very welcome! Glad I could be of help. I just looked at the article, and it looks like you got the logo on the page. I see you got the references formatted right now, so I went ahead and removed the footnotes tag from the article. It's shaping up nicely! :) Be sure you fill out the information summary and fair use rationale about the logo image (source, use, etc). Any more questions, feel free to ask! Removal of speedy tag on PMtoday
When removing a speedy-delete tag, please remove any hangon tags that were also placed, so as not to falsely alert admins and bots. I disagree with your assessment, and have now stepped up the deletion process to a prod. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 02:25, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know, and sorry for the confusion. I've had articles I proposed for speedy deletion declined if there was a single reliable reference, so I felt that the presence of several on this article warranted a discussion instead of a speedy. In any case, I appreciate the reminder of removing the hangon tag and will remember that in the future. All the best, Pianotech 02:33, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
- "X" number of reliable references is not a hard-and-fast criteria for allowing or denying a speedy-delete. The refs do help establish notability (if they pertain directly to the subject), and notability is what determines deletion or not. One reliable ref may be enough, depending on what it is. (By the way, I think the tb tag lets you tell others to check the original thread on the other talk page, or something like that.) - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 02:40, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
I have created two articles so far Electro Soukouss and Gangsta? I have no idea if I'm doing this right, and thank you for the welcome. Joe692 (talk) 12:18, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, both articles look good in terms of style. The Electro Soukouss one could benefit from a few more independent references, though, I think (practically every article on Wikipedia could use more references!). For further reading, WP:Reliable references is a good read. Hope that helps! Pianotech 12:23, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Curiosity about PMtoday
I created the article, actually, and I was curious to know how it isn't notable. They have released two albums (In Medias Res as well as ...And Then the Hurricane) "on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e., an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable)", which Rise Records meets. How does this not meet criteria 5 of WP:MUSIC? Please respond. Thank you. --ҚЯĀŽΨÇÉV13 21:09, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
- Hello! I think there's a misunderstanding here. Your article was originally tagged for speedy deletion (deletion without even a discussion) by a different editor, not me. If you look at the article history, you'll see that I removed the speedy deletion tag and commented that since I was able to find sources, the article did not in my opinion warrant being speedily deleted. I then suggested the other editor try Articles for Deletion or Proposed deletion instead if he felt the article should still be deleted. Hope that clarifies. Pianotech 21:22, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
My mistake, I wasn't clear. I know you didn't nominate the article, but the user who did seems to be refusing to respond to my claims of notability. Therefore I was more looking for an opinion than a clarification. I'm just a bit confused. --ҚЯĀŽΨÇÉV13 21:43, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
- That was me. I was involved in a week-long meeting, and couldn't always respond in a timely manner. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 03:00, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
Sockpuppetry
Hi there, my name has been mentioned in connection with a sockpuppetry case to Greenock125, I have never heard of this user before please can you help me, thanks. Joe692 (talk) 15:10, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- I don't know much about it myself, but sockpuppetry is the use of alternate accounts (more than one account) in a way that violates Wikipedia guidelines. If you are doing this, you should stop or you could (and probably will) be blocked from further editing. If you are not doing it, you can defend yourself at the discussion page. WP:Sockpuppet provides the information you should need about sockpuppeting. If you are being discussed, the discussion page is at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations. I hope that helps. Pianotech 15:21, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
I have really enjoyed editing on Wikipedia and don't want it to end, I honestly have never heard of this user before If I am blocked would you unblock me, thanks. Joe692 (talk) 15:25, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not an administrator, so I don't have a say in that. If you're not engaged in sockpuppetry, then most likely the investigation will show that and will be closed without action. Pianotech 15:30, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
Dear PianoTech, Thank you for helping me - I did my best to add citations and tidy it up a bit - do you think it's better now? I'm afraid perhaps I still didn't do it right because it says "Notes" instead of "References" at the bottom - is that OK? Does that mean the same thing? Did I do it wrong - I will be glad to change it again, sorry for being a bother :) Artmaestro (talk) 01:45, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
- Hello! Yes, it's good that you are showing references now. I've removed the unreferencedBLP tag from the article, and also changed it so it says "references" instead of "notes." Hopefully that's ok. If I can be of any more help, let me know. :) Happy editing! Pianotech 01:56, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Dear PianoTech, THANK YOU, not only for all your patient help, but for making me feel welcome - I really appreciate it! Artmaestro (talk) 17:46, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
My Perry Noble article
Explain to me why my article on Perry Noble was deleted. I did cite sources. My view of him was also objective. I only acknowledged that he was the source of criticism by others. I also included links to his website. This is a public figure. I hope you are not engaging in some sort of censorship. If there were technical problems with my article, please point them out to me. Daredevil1234 (talk) 17:37, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- It's not enough to say he was the source of criticism by others (I think you actually mean he was the target of criticism, not the source). You have to provide references to that. You can't just make a statement of fact without a footnote to back it up, especially when you are talking about a living person. Pianotech Talk to me!/Contribs 19:39, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
The content of the Perry Noble article that was deleted
How is this an unfair attack does not cite sources:
- Text of unsourced BLP removed from this page by Pianotech. Discussion below follows
The above is fair and objective, and refers to a public figure —Preceding unsigned comment added by Daredevil1234 (talk • contribs) 17:44, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- Hi there. I'm not an administrator, so I don't have the power to delete. I tagged the page with unreferencedBLP because the article did not cite references. First off, YouTube videos and blogs are not considered reliable references. See WP:BLP for Wikipedia guidelines on this. Also, see WP:Reliable references and WP:References for beginners for guidelines on reliable references and how to cite them in an article according to Wikipedia's manual of style. That aside, in the meantime, someone else appears to have tagged it for speedy deletion as an attack page. I don't know who that was, or why it would have been considered an attack page. My involvement with the article was only to tag it as an unreferenced biography of a living person. Hope that helps. Pianotech Talk to me!/Contribs 17:48, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Thank you very much. With respect to it being tagged as an attack page, I am addressing that now. In the article I do note that there is a lack of biographical information on the subject's website and a scandal involving him was not reported in the mainstream media. The subject is a public figure. He is known,observable, and has been spoken about by many. I know the legal standards for libel are the publishing of false information about someone. I am merely noting the presence of a public figure. If the mainstream media has not noted him, does that disqualify all other sources concerning him? Daredevil1234 (talk) 18:01, 25 July 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Daredevil1234 (talk • contribs) 18:01, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- Independent coverage of him doesn't necessarily have to be from mainstream media, but it must be reliable and verifiable. Being that anyone can upload anything on YouTube and anyone can blog anything, it's reasonable that those cannot be considered reliable sources. Obviously, the same would hold true with his personal website, etc. That would be like me writing about you and citing your website as a source; you could be saying anything. Any independent, reliable press coverage, etc., would certainly fit the bill. If you could link to, say, a USA Today or NY Times article, for instance, that would qualify. The more of those the better. Hope that helps. PS: Remember to sign your posts with four tildes (these things: ~) Pianotech Talk to me!/Contribs 18:09, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
An actual videographic representation of an actual human being preaching a sermon about someone is what I am citing when I point to the sermon by Mr.Anderson. It just happens to be stored at YouTube which is merely a repository for web based video. When you say anyone can upload anything on YouTube and thus that cannot be considered a reliable source you are employing faulty logic. When you say that would be like me writing about you and citing your website as a source you are employing circular logic. I mean this with all due respect.
Examine the subject matter and content of what is being said. I point to the fact that a man is known by a sermon that another preached on him. The video, upon using the hypertext link, will be viewable. It will be shown to be an actual videographic representation of an actual person and not Hollywood special effects. Daredevil1234 (talk) 18:46, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- Not circular logic at all. Example: Your website makes a statement about you. I write an article about you, use that information, and cite your website as the source of information. Not reliable because you are not independent of the subject and could make any claim about yourself that you wish. If, however, USA Today wrote something about you and I cited that as a source, that holds weight since you cannot control what USA Today writes about you. But this debate is moot for the following reason: your opinion or my opinion are not what matters here. What matters are Wikipedia's guidelines, which neither you nor I have written. And those guidelines state that YouTube is not a reliable source of information. It may be a reliable source for you, or even for me, but not for Wikipedia. Again, I'll point you to WP:Reliable references. I didn't write the guidelines. And as I said, I am not an administrator and did not delete your article. If you like, you can probably find the admin who deleted the article and take the case to Deletion review. Best, Pianotech Talk to me!/Contribs 18:57, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- Additionally, because the text of the article remains unsourced and makes claims that are not verifiable, I am going to remove it from my talk page (but will leave the discussion intact). Pianotech Talk to me!/Contribs 19:20, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
I found no such reference to YouTube not being a source of reliable information. I seached with CTRL-F for youtube on the page you cite and its discussion page. Either you made an erroneous statement, or you made something up. You also overlook the fact I am merely pointing to the video being stored on YouTube. There are countless places to store video online. I am not citing YouTube as an actual source, you are only trying to paint it that way. I respect you removing the article, but keeping the discussion open. I notice on your user page you are listed as a Christian, so was the other user Timneu22 who cited it as an attack page. I hope there is not bias at work here.
Also in the section where I cite the two videos (which happen to be stored at YouTube) I point to a video by Mr. Anderson and also a video of Mr.Noble uploaded by his church. My article is reporting and it is being treated as a polemic. You are making a straw-man argument by stating I am citing unverifiable sources. How is stating that a person has preached someting critical of the subject of this article and a video recording of such is available here(at such and such localtion) citing an unverifiable source? Your postition is fantastic and illogical. Also when you say that neither of our opinions matter on this matter you bring up something that has nothing to do with the price of tea in China. I am not upholding my opinion, nor denigrating yours. I am addressing your arbitrary determination that I used an unverifiable source. When you say this argument is moot you are evading the issue. You made an illogical determination that you cannot substantiate.
With all due respect sir, if you are going to quell debate on an issue, then you should not interject your view on the issue. Daredevil1234 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 20:08, 25 July 2010 (UTC).
- Prior to this article, I have never heard of Perry Noble.
- I am not an administrator. I cannot delete a page, and am powerless to restore one that's been deleted.
- If you are going to say a person is a target of criticism, cite a verifiable source to back up that claim.
- Your sources are reliable (or not) based on Wikipedia's guidelines, not on mine or yours.
- You are wasting time arguing this with me when you could be taking it up with the administrator who actually deleted your page.
- Either take this up with the admin who deleted the article and submit it for deletion review, or recreate the page in your userspace, cite it properly, and try publishing it again.
- As I had nothing to do with tagging the article for deletion, nothing to do with deleting it, am powerless to restore it since I'm not an admin, and have tried to help you to no avail, I'm done discussing.
All the best, Pianotech Talk to me!/Contribs 20:22, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Okay so I'll consider the case with you closed. But I just want to comment on your use of the term "verifiable source". You use it like a buzz-word. The word verifiable means the truth of the thing can be ascertained. I cite a video recording a sermon given by someone else on the subject. That is verifiable. Lastly, you are the one who offered criticisms of the matter. Upon confrontation and scrutiny of the reasoning you employed you proceeded to evade the issue. No one ever said you deleted the article. I'll just address it there from now on. Thank you for your time. Daredevil1234 (talk) 22:50, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- Glad to help, Jonathan. You'll notice that at the top of my page there is a link that says "Click here to leave a new message." In the future, simply click on that and start typing your message. It'll automatically show up in a new section (like this message) at the bottom of the page. :) I'll have a look at the article and make corrections to the footnotes if needed. Article is really starting to shape up; good work. :) Pianotech Talk to me!/Contribs 11:13, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Jonathan. Truthfully, the easiest way is to either add the article to your watchlist or bookmark it. To add it to your watchlist, just click the star at the top of the article page (it's by Read, Edit, etc). Then the page will show up in your "My watchlist" link. New infobox and formatting ... More suggestions?
Hi PianoTech. Thanks for your continued help and valued input. Your instructions are always very thoughtful and clear. I've added an Infobox and adjusted (a bit) my formatting to separate paragraphs. I still plan to bold key words, etc. Also, I have now added article to my watchlist so easy to access! :) More suggestions? Modifications needed, etc? BTW, I see from yo rbio that one of your many interests is Magic. I have performed magic for more than 30 years (kids and Adults). See our sites at: www.maxmagician.com and www.monsieurmagic.com Hope yo enjoy them! ;) (I keep forgetting to inset my four Tildas!!! - Infobox looks good! I would suggest including his notability as a DC comics artist in the lead section of the article. It could even be in the first sentence after his birth/death years. Just a suggestion. When you start to break your article into sections, here's the formatting:
== Teenage years == will produce a section called Teenage years, like this:
Teenage years
Helpful when adding sections to your article. Also, when you do this, the sections automatically end up in a navigation box at the top of your article. Pretty nice. :) Pianotech Talk to me!/Contribs 01:51, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
Thanks PianoTech!!!!
Hopefully by Sat night, I will have added more verifications, links, etc. How far away do yo think I am from move this from the Draft section to the Wkipedia Live section? What else needs to be done? Please advise.Jonathan Levey 02:08, 28 July 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonathanlevey (talk • contribs)
I invite yo to re-visit my Draft article to see how I have integrated many of your excellent suggestions (Headings, etc.). I highlighted the fact that he was a DC Comics Book Illustrator in the Infobox section,but should probable try to insert that Air Wave was his main creation except that this will not likely fit in to the tool box format. Perhaps I should try what you suggested and cut and paste the entire section bout his pre-war work at DC Comics into the opening paragraph and bold the first sentence to call attention to this. But then the chronology of the article and his life's time-line will be out of whack. Please offer your constructive suggestion(s) in this regard. Perhaps provide a real example by copying,cutting and pasting my text into a sample article to show the way you think it would look and read best. /* Help Pls */
Your help needed !
- Can you tell me how can i redirect search result of Brahmadesam to Brahmadesam_(disambiguation). Because whenever i type as Brahmadesam it is straight away directed to Brahmadesam of Ambasamudram Taluk of Thirunelveli District in Tamilnadu which is not supposed to happen. One of our Wikipedian (Sodabottle) has suggested that it can be achieved by moving the Brahmadesam-thirunelveli article to Brahmadesam (Tirunelveli) and redirecting Brahmadesam to Brahmadesam_(disambiguation). But really i dont know how to do that. Can you help in this regard.
- Can you review the article & provide rating for it. As it is a article on village who's name has not reached media, i had lot of difficulty in gathering references for the article. I have put my best to bring the article to this stage. Pls help me in this regard. Thank you once again!!Raj 6644(தமிழன்) 06:43, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
1. Suggested changes for Intro section on Harris Levey 2. Ready to go live?
Hi PianoTech. Thanks again. With your timely input I have moved ahead nicely, in terms of putting this draft article on "Harris Levey" into shape. I just made the changes you suggested to my intro and I appreciate the modifications you made directly into my draft as well. II need to create a redirect so that once this article on Harris Levey goes live, if a visitor to wiki inserts "Lee Harris" into the search engine, they are taken to the page of "Harris Levey". Please advise or help me by making this redirect for me (if you are able to). I also have a dilemma and woudl like your advice: Although Harris Levey was perhaps most known for his work as an illustrator for DC comics and this work was done under the legal name of Lee Harris,this period in his life (comic book illustrator) was relatively brief (less than ten years) and he did make a bit of a name for himself in the Advertising world which he worked in for 40+ years and where he was the art director on several exciting campaigns such as Clairol Hair,Mobil,the Army, and many others. I would like to give hiim recognition fr his achievements as an Art Director as well as for his comic book work. Please advise Jonathan Levey 02:20, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
- Hi there! I didn't get much chance to get on WIkipedia yesterday but I now see your post. Myself, I would combine his whole career into a single article so it will be a complete and concise bio about him. As for the redirect, that part I'm not sure of, so I would recommend asking OlEnglish about that. I'm sure he can do the redirect for you since he originally moved the page to your userspace. I would also ask if he agrees that the article is pretty much ready to go live. I think it can now go live as you continue to work on it without any risk of deletion, etc., but it's best to have more than one opinion! :) Pianotech Talk to me!/Contribs 11:45, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
