I don't know why because the code is fine but the flags are not showing up on the templates you repeatedly edit. Here is a screenshot as proof. So if you can make these work, the changes can remanin. Penwith Wikiproject

This is the most ultra specific project I've ever come across, how do these things work other than everyone just collaborating on the article.

I'm not sure what you mean – you use article in the singular, do you think that the project only covers the article on Penwith?!! That would be ultra-specific! The project covers everything to do with with places in the district, so that includes an article on every parish, town and village of note, as well as other places like the Minack Theatre and stone monuments like the The Merry Maidens so there is quite a lot of scope. When we started there was mostly a single line or nothing on most of these pages. its looking a bit more fleshed out now, but there is still lots to do! This is Claude A. R. Kagan until I can figure out how to get a shorter nickname. I hope this is the way to thanks you. I appreaciate your comment which I figured was the way to ask questions of this operation is to look bgack where you asked the question. I was right in that guess. I will not experiment with larger letters while in here. I looked over your stuff real pretty. Iwish I could write HTML that well. Iam in to forerunner of HTML, namely sam76 language which comnbines power of html with java but does not have the myriad of graphic capabilities of html. I think a sam76 languavge plugin could be a great advdition since you do not compile it, unlike Java. The trick is to add to html the capability to have a way of piping sam76 language script through the plugin. For instance the following is a simple sam76 expression which causes the multiplication of two numbers which if piped in to the sam76 plugin will then cause output stream of the result back into html: %mu,1234,99999/ multiplies the preceding two numbers. sam76 has about 350 primitives etc etc. In any event my mind is too old to do the foregoing. You can get a copy of the language from RESISTORS.ORG, or send me an email, cark@comcast.net and I will send you a disk and a copy of the original manual written by a bunch of kids about 35 years ago. I apreciate all of your comments, first: Low vision means basically LOW RESOLUTION. Since the macula handles the high res and is dead, I can only see via the retina. Color is fine Larger type helps but it is not only size, it is alos thickness of type face taht matters Thick type face with clear white spaces are helpful. I usually have to 8X magnifier to read but this goes pretty fast if type is about 20 point. I use READINGBAR on the browser when I am on the internet. If I can copy and paste then I use READPLEASE to lisgten gto the material. I can also casue an MP2 sound file to be created at the same time. I have the ATT natural voices, American English and French both male and female. They have a whole variety of additional lnaguages but I did not find ESPERANTO which I would think is what you call ESPERANZA? Perhaps ATT natural language could add that to their catalog as part of your project then people could listen to your talk. I will rework the sam76 stuff. No it is not polish reverse or otherwise. It is natural conversational sequence. The scanning of nested expressions goes from right to left, inside out bjut embedded expressions are picked up as the scanner goes from left to right. eg: %di,%mu,999,3/,7,infinity/ is naturally spoken as follows: divide the number resulting by multiplying 999 by 3 dividing by 1 and if the result is 0, or the null string the the word infinity is the output. Of course the wsord infinity could be an expression that would transfer tyou sto some other activity, or if you omit it then you are likely to burn out your CPU. Like I said I would be most happy to send you a copy of the manual. It is a delightful book written by teens and illustrated by a kid from the ineer city who did not dig computers and illustrated what he understood the other children were saying. A short Esperanzial update

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.

As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

Protecting articles

Hi Phil! It looks like you've been busy since we last talked. You might drop a note requesting semi-protection (that's the level where registered users can edit, but anons can't) at WP:PROTECT. I'm actually a little reluctant to protect it, in spite of the vandalism. Many users will visit Wikipedia for the first time to read this article, and it may well be where they give editing their first try. What might be better is if you leave a note at the village pump, asking other users to add the FIFA article to their watchlists because of sporadic but ongoing vandalism. Regarding your recent edit to the above named article, does it really matter if a site has been hacked and is currently unavailable?

No, not really. Quite simply, it's not worth the time and effort to put right again if/when the site is restored. If this were the case, then there would be hourly edits to the sortitoutsi.net entry. This edit has now been reverted.

I'd rather you kept my title inside Wikipedia. It's just Dan on here, but if you must, then Mr Dan is fine. I'm not an appointed authority on the article, but as you can see by my edits, I have spent a lot of time and effort on the article and, whilst it is, by no means my own, I do try to keep it in good order. This type of behaviour is also encouraged by Wikipedia.

Regarding your apparent 'infinite stupidity', well nobody's perfect. Injuries... Buildings... Not sure what you're on about here sp we'll skip past this. Hacking being more serious is a matter of opinion and has no basis for fact. Unfortunately, edit summaries aren't big enough for most of the things I like to say, and I felt your edit deserved an explanation. My beef with your edit though, is that it is an insignificant event. Lets say that in an hours time, the site get back on its knees... Well then, the notice is out of date already and it'll take some more time for the edit to be removed.

Anyway... Who really needs to know it's down/hacked/whatever? Chances are, that 90% of people will click anyway in their infinite wisdom, curiosity and ignorance.

Please stop reverting edits by others and me to Montenegro national football team until you've succeeded at building consensus on this issue. If you present documentation that their players will be obligated to play for Serbia, that would probably be sufficient to win me (and possibly others) over to your position. I have rummaged through 28 or so years of my files and found a very good quite encyclopedic description of the sam76 language I put it in my DISCUSSION page and would appreciate your checking it out. I was lucky that was a formatted and tyu-peset page using the languageprinting consstant width fonts and all I had to do was copy and paste. There are references, acknowledgements, I dont know if the latter is encyclopedic if so let me know what to remove. You can add your comments at the bottom of my discussion page below the article. It's not like I think being an IP is good, I just think that editors are too hard on the poor little guys. Believe you me, being an IP sucks. We don't have nearly as cool of things as registered users have. Some people want to prevent IPs from editing, though, which I think is insane. Nobody would register if they couldn't edit as an IP. Looking at my discussion page I see a /nowidi at the very top then your explanation then the two things of algorithms I had put it. I do not see the <nowiki. tut I see my stuff OK without anythign. This would be a great and simple way to translate from english to esperant. From Claude, Unpardonable, but forgiveable. OK pr4evailing on your time between foot ball issues: What is diff betwwn red and blue reference links when using two pair of square brackets. I have figured out how to extract images from wikimedia, but how toes one pjut the image in that store? Image helping text

Regarding [1]. I would suggest that instead of using Exmaple.jpg you'd better use Example.png. It is the same image anyway, but the editing toolbar uses example.jpg, thus checking the pages which use example.jpg is a great way to find editing experiments left over by the recent changes patrol, or badly formatted new articles. Thus any other use of example.jpg only makes that list more difficult to check. andy 11:53, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

REALLY, it may seem to be a hoax to him but I have the original and made replicas of the original that I have sold once in a while on eBay. Fuurthermore I have a copy of the Patent summary from England, and extensive correspondence with people in Devon and Plymouth. What more does the author of Hoax above want. I have given in the references patent number, and original publisher.

I looked over the text and I dont find it ambiguous with the use of the word computer at the very bottom, that was intended to be humorous sicne obviously they did nothave computers in the mid 18th. Century. The conclusion is quite clear no paper no printier no pencils, the author of the original stresses that poing. Should I put the whole booklet on Wikipedia, I do not have it in machine readable form. and there are about 32 pages of technical detail including the coding used, environmental issues etc etc.

I looked at the comment about the picture: First do I just change jpg to png, are they the same? secondly I could not find an image button on the main toolbar, and the toolbar above the image did not do anything much when I hit it. I actually edited the the article to add the globo2.jpg there I did not do anthing about wiki, nowiki etc, I can fix that. You got to watch out for this guy, 1998 1999 nba season was just fine, but he had to change june 25th day, the day when the season ended, it was there all the time, but he chose to play around, in his mind littlest of things are mistakes and personal attacks, see that the article gets corrected right.

Template over usage

I'm after combating this by using a new collapsable template.

Only the bar appears at first and you can open it by pressing the "show" button. I think its a nice comprimise.

We still have to iron out one or two problems before it can be used widespread.

Check out Paolo Maldini where it is being used with past Italy squads.

AQB Sports Ratings

Hi there,

I agree that AQB Ratings are notable ratings, but I'm not sure that the author has carried them out to a full extent that makes them as complete as the ELO ratings. For example, not all of the teams are ranked, and it seems to me that he avoids even calculating the matches with unranked opponents (see his list--it only goes upto 100 teams, and also see this http://www.image.co.nz/aqb/soccer_unranked.html). I like his method, but he needs to be more thorough and scientific with his findings and he needs to carry it out for all teams, not just a few that he considers to be strong. Lastly, he has no intermediate data to double check his calculations either. These are the primary reasons why his rankings are not as accepted as Elo's. Cheers! --Palffy 17:02, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Exactly what form the admin coaching takes is up to you and the coaches to decide, but a general piece of advice I give is to set up a user subpage (for example User:Philc 0780/Admin coaching, or just use your existing 'Improve me' page) to keep coaching discussion together. Fandangle

The article used to read:

The fandangle is a groundbreaking skateboard maneuver invented by Eric Koston on April 23, 1997 in Beverly Hills, CA. It is a one-footed nose grind.

The fandangle helped usher in a new era of skateboarding and is not at all responsible for the creation of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater video game series. It is considered by most to be a difficult skateboarding trick and has been performed only a handful of times.

I was right! :) I wasn't saying the course of your life could go backwards (although the vector would oscillate), I was saying you can fit an infinitely long spiral in a fixed area (which you can). If instead of being a fixed line that had to exist with bounds (say less than 121 years) your life could fit inside a 2D time box that was 11 years x 11 years – so no-ones life could extend out of that 11 x 11 box, but the line inside could be an infinite number of years long. Eternal Life

These spirals are infinitely long. They can all be drawn inside a box you could draw on the graph. If x and y of that graph were 2 time dimensions then the point at which you were in your life could be described by 2 numbers (your x age and your y age) instead of the 1 number we use in 4D space time. So instead of being 10 years old you would be (for instance) 6 years old in the x direction and 7 years old in the y direction, and this situation would have many similarities to our familiar 1D time, but you would also be eternal :) .

You don't need to 'regress' as you put it (meaning get younger?). The spirals in the pic don't have an obvious starting point, but you can use ones that do if you want (in the ones in the pic, just as never dying, you would never have been born either – you would have existed always*). You proceed along them at a constant rate – this is known as a parametrisation, so in these respects we haven't deviated from 1D time yet. And you can't 'dodge' from one point in time to another – the lines are just like straight lines or train tracks – you can't jump off them and miss a station. Finally, you can't harness or manipulate this time any more than you can 1D time – so in all respects so far considered it's just the same except for eternal life!

• There's a distinction between infinite and all, but that doesn't need to concern us here.

Oh, and I only have 1 browser open ATM, but your point about time lines overlapping is similar to current 1D time. You need polynomial functions in order to let the curves overlap for strict subsets of their points, which is an added condition, but I can't see any additional constraints it would impose. If they merely cross then I think we need more conditions in order to preserve certain laws of physics, such as conservation of energy. Rentwa 20:13, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

A note from Lewis

I can sort of relate to your position, you're just a stubborn, short-tempered hot-head like me! But let me say this much. I wrote to Stu to vouch for the fact that you're a decent guy who I respect. Now I'm writing to you to do the same for Stu. Despite the fact that he's a Democrat (I'll never forgive him for that! I'm a Tory!), he's ultimately one of the most decent, intelligent, politically astute fellows I've ever come across here. I consider you both friends (although, I have to admit, I know him better).

I often speak out against prejudice. Well, I have to admit that in at least one sense I'm definitely prejudiced. Being Canadian, in a strange way, I'm sort of half-British, half-American. That's kind of how we think of ourselves over here. In any case, I have to admit that I have a totally prejudiced fondness for England and all things English. I'm also rather pro-US (if you haven't noticed!) Of course it's ridiculous, I'm sure there are quite a few English assholes, (and definitely plenty of American assholes!) but my "prejudice" assumed from the very start that you're definitely not one of them.

One of aspects of the English mentality that I'm so fond of is your unique sense of grace and magnanimity. I aspire to that. All I'm asking of you then is to be the good, gracious and magnanimous Englishman that you are give Stu a completely and unqualified apology.

As I was implying, the three of us, (I should include JackofOz as well,) though we may come from somewhat different countries (and different religions as well), we nonetheless share that ineffable "English" mentality, that mentality of sensibility, magnanimity, modest self-deprecation (ok, so the Yanks aren't too good at that part!) and stoicism that is so horribly lacking on the continent, not to mention the rest of the world. It would be a shame to throw all that away over a silly dispute over the meaning of a word.
