A tag has been placed on David I Orenstein requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. In progress autobiography

edit

Paleo,

There are several issues to address with you article on David I Orenstein:

  1. As Orenstein's blog is titled Paleolibrarian, which happens to be your Wikipedia user name, I must presume that the article is an autobiography. Users are strongly discouraged from writing their autobiographies, as the requirement to remain neutral is so hard when writing about oneself.
  2. You have written that the article is "in progress and will be updated throughout the summer". If you insist on continuing with your autobiography (it is not forbidden, but it is strongly discouraged), and it is not yet ready for publication, you should create it in your own user space (at User:Paleolibrarian/David I Orenstein, for example) and only publish it to article space when it is ready.
  3. It is, as of today's version, and unsourced biography of a living person, which makes it eligible for deletion on those grounds alone.
  4. The article, again as of today's version, does not actually assert any particular notability. Orenstein has written some articles, and has a book pending publication, and writes a blog. Unless any of these activities have caused significant third party coverage (independent of the author or his publishers) to be generated, there is no real basis for an article.

I have nominated the article for deletion for now. If you insist on continuing, I would recommend that you copy the current contents to your user space (as I noted above) for further development. And because it is an autobiography, you should probably ask for a review of the article from an independent editor before it is moved to article space. Sockpuppet investigation

edit

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Paleolibrairan, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
