Wikipedia and copyright edit
Hello Opifer, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your addition to Mabuchi Motor has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. - Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. - Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. Mabuchi Motor article expansion edit
Hi. I have seen the work you have been doing to the Mabuchi Motor article recently, and while it's great that someone has taken the time to update and really expand the article, I am also concerned about the overall glossy promotional tone the article now has. Are you perhaps involved with the company or even contracted to expand the Wikipedia article? If that is the case, you will need to read the relevant guidelines at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and disclose any close involvement you may have on the article's talk page. Either way, would it be possible for you to review the article text and make it sound more like a neutral encyclopedia article, pruning some of the bits that read as though they come straight out of a corporate brochure? Phrases such as Mabuchi Group is working on energy conservation..., Mabuchi is enhancing environmental awareness..., and Mabuchi has been contributing to society could apply to just about any company in the world, and don't really belong in what is supposed to be a factual article. I hope you can take the time to rework and prune the text to bring it more closely in line with Wikipedia guidelines. Thanks. --DAJF (talk) 03:40, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
- Hi DAJF, I live in the area and toured the company's history museum and picked up some brochures. I thought it was really interesting and, after reading all the pages in the notable businesses in Japan category, I decided to contribute to this one first. I'm trying to do a really thorough job (I have a history MA) and raise the rating of this page in the companies in Japan project before moving on to some of my other favorite Japanese companies, like Sony and Toyota. This seemed like a good place to start. But anyway, I'm happy to do some better paraphrasing of the materials I have access to and have read. I'll start by eliminating adjectives; that was the advice my high school English teacher always had for me for concise prose. Thanks for your help! - Sure thing! I'm hoping to visit Sony next but I want to make sure I do well this one first. I'll go through the article section by section for tone. Already redid the Environmental section and the CSR section ...

Thank you for your contributions. It seems that you may have added public domain content to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as Daiichi Sankyo. You are welcome to import appropriate public domain content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Public-domain sources, including the usage of an attribution template.
