Welcome to the 2022 WikiCup!

Happy New Year and Happy New WikiCup! The 2022 competition has just begun and all article creators, expanders, improvers and reviewers are welcome to take part. Any questions on the rules or on anything else should be directed to one of the judges, or posted to the WikiCup talk page. Signups will close at the end of January, and the first round will end on 26 February; the 64 highest scorers at that time will move on to round 2. The judges for the WikiCup this year are: Sturmvogel 66 (talk · contribs · email) and Cwmhiraeth (talk · contribs · email). Good luck! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 14:37, 5 January 2022 (UTC)

Question from Pakson Pharmaceuticals (05:16, 6 January 2022)

Hey please help me how to create wikki --Pakson Pharmaceuticals (talk) 05:16, 6 January 2022 (UTC)

Hello, Pakson Pharmaceuticals, and welcome! Creating an article is one of the harder tasks on Wikipedia, and it is discouraged to write an article for your company. Promotional articles are not allowed, and will get you blocked. With that in mind, you can create articles at Articles for creation. Best wishes and happy 2022, Vukky TalkGuestbook 08:57, 6 January 2022 (UTC)

Article reject

Hello Why toy reject my page "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:After_Link_Downloader"? What means reliable sources? I am the developer of that program! What means advertisement? The such page for "FlashGet" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FlashGet) download manager is lime myself! Finally how can I create a page for my program?! Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by MrJavadTaheri (talkcontribs) 15:37, 8 January 2022 (UTC)

MrJavadTaheri, you see, one of the main things about Wikipedia is that you need to have a source to back up the claims you make in articles. Being the creator of something doesn't count, you will need to have sources written by other people as well, and they need to be reliable - hence the name "reliable sources". You do not have any reliable sources in your article, so I denied it. Best wishes and happy 2022, Vukky TalkGuestbook 23:22, 8 January 2022 (UTC)

Concern if any mistakes are there in the content

Hello Vukky,

I'm a beginner in Wikipedia Article Creation. Eager to learn how this wonderful world of knowledge is built on. So I choose one organization with lots of branches but not listed in Wikipedia. Can you help me out with the drawbacks of the content I created recently? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Priyajith2022 (talkcontribs) 11:01, 11 January 2022 (UTC)

Hello Priyajith2022, and welcome to Wikipedia! The issue I saw was that Wikipedia articles should use reliable sources as references. Information on Wikipedia needs references so people can see if it is true.
Although you did put some sources in the article, you'd need some more independent ones to meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines for companies.
I understand this can be confusing, so I will try to explain why I don't consider the sources ready for publishing:
  1. It is unclear who the HR Blizz help desk is owned by, since anyone can make a help desk on Freshdesk. It does not establish notability, since it is made by either a random person or the company.
  2. The Mesaar website works well enough, but it does not establish notability, since it is owned by the company.
  3. Everybody Wiki is unreliable, since Everybody Wiki is a wiki anyone can edit. Everybody Wiki does not have a reference for this claim. As such, it does not establish notability.
  4. Themagazineplus appears to have taken the text from a press release. Press releases are not independent, since they are usually written by the company or someone associated with the company. As such, it does not establish notability.
As you can see, based on the sources you have used, the company does not appear notable enough to get a Wikipedia article. Outside of these sources, most of the text in the article has no source, which makes me unable to tell if what you have written is true. Re your revert on Specialist school

The UK specialist school system ended in 2010. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Specialist_schools_programme

You've just restored a series of edits that have been concocted by user:ThatRandomGuy1 to install linkspam - specifically paid links to theschoolrun.com .

I'm happy to spend time and restore the article to usefulness and remove the linkspam and I hope you will assist. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.159.134.18 (talkcontribs) 10:36, 13 January 2022 (UTC)

Oops   - I've undone my restore now (which sounds a bit silly!) Thank you for notifying me about this. I'll take a look at it. Best wishes and happy 2022, Vukky TalkGuestbook 10:40, 13 January 2022 (UTC)

Recent Changes filters

Hello! Since you are also a vandalism fighter, have you ever encountered a situation where your recent changes filters disappear? Only asking because there's a phab related to this that so far only me and one other editor have experienced (outside of trying to get it to happen on purpose). ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 15:36, 18 January 2022 (UTC)

Blaze Wolf, if you mean the AI-based ones, I sure have! It's a bit annoying. Where's the phab? Best wishes and happy 2022, Vukky TalkGuestbook 15:40, 18 January 2022 (UTC)

Content updated and added more references

As suggested, I have added a few more references to the draft. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Mercans_-_HRM_and_Payroll Added content based on the references I got. Hopefully, this will work fine. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Priyajith2022 (talkcontribs) 11:06, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

Hello, Vukky! As an ambitious new editor of potentially one of the most innovative and transformative sites in the history of the internet, I am eager to begin editing pages, creating new pages, and broadly helping the community. In your humble opinion, which pages should I start helping out on? Thanks. --Brufada (talk) 00:48, 21 January 2022 (UTC)

Similar sigs SOLVED

I remember when I first encountered you when a user requested that I be their mentor and you were their mentor at the time and how I found it funny how similar our sigs were. I see why they're so similar now, you also had Levi_OP make yours. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 00:16, 28 January 2022 (UTC)
