Speedy deletion of Swamy S R

edit

A tag has been placed on Swamy S R requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. License tagging for Image:Amjoosten.gif

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Amjoosten.gif. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 10:06, 26 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Notability of Mario Montessori Sr.

edit

A tag has been placed on Mario Montessori Sr. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 10:05, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I deleted your recent article because it did not provide independent verifiable sources that it meets the notability guidelines. Articles must be fully sourced both to verify notability, and so that copyright issues can be addressed (eg copying text from a website). They must also be neutral and encyclopaedic in tone, claims made must be referenced Jimfbleak (talk) 11:00, 5 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I note that your other articles are unsourced and full of unreferenced promotional claims (lovingly known as). I haven't deleted these yet to give you a chance to add sources and make less spammy. Jimfbleak (talk) 11:06, 5 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Montessori redux

edit

In keeping with Wiki traditions and culture, my supposition is that you've changed the "Mario Montessori Sr." article in good faith. I'll elaborate on specific changes that would benefit the article in its Discussion. Here, I'll note that user "Sting au" added several tags to the article in December 2007 that you deleted without explanation. So that other editors can be involved, explanation is always a good idea.

In my opinion, the tags "Sting au" added were correct. As an example, "Sting au" added a tag that "This article does not cite any references or sources" -- and this was correct, it did not. The next thing that happened was also excellent, which is that you started to add references.

The lapse in the process is not communicating your intentions to the editor. The reason this is a problem is that the editor (or other editors) cannot determine which elements you intend to change, and which you do not.

And, as it sometimes happens in Wiki, even changes with the best intentions do not answer the editor's issues. So, when an editor places a tag, you need to indicate when you feel you have answered that tag. If the issue has not been corrected or rebutted in Discussion, then it is inappropriate to remove the tag.

To be clear, these things, in the Wiki world, are not small matters. It takes some time to understand Wiki policy, and to strike relations with people who can help. But to make changes on major subjects, this cannot be avoided. I see that "Mushroom" has offered to answer questions, and I'd certainly recommend contacting him, instead of the way which I learned. (In my situation, I was very unhappy about edits to events which I had witnessed firsthand, but the Wiki editor apparently knew little about. As it happens, given the purpose of Wiki, the editor was right. I knew the facts, but due to Wiki conventions, I was not able to use them.)
