Suggestion edit

Currently, {{multiple issues}} is rendered as one tag; this understates things a bit, as it could be comprised of any number of specific cleanup tags. Maybe it'd be better if the bot retrieved the tags from within it and displayed them all individually? Seegoon (talk) 23:02, 4 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Good suggestion, bot will be able to do this before the next run. Noom talk contribs 15:37, 6 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Great stuff. Good work with the bot! Seegoon (talk) 17:58, 6 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Update edit

I'm going to stop the current batch and reimage the bots server tonight, in order to hopefully have the bot running smoother (and faster) again by tomorrow morning. All the current bugs should also be fixed, but I haven't individually checked them all. Noom talk stalk 20:31, 24 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Good to see you back! Two or three of your bugs are my reports, if you need an update on them just ping me! :) Salvidrim! 21:05, 24 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

The only issue with the latest version is that it no longer expands {{multiple issues}}. I'll be implementing it once everythings back up. Noom talk stalk 21:10, 24 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Oh? Pardon my confusion, I saw the reports still open at User:NoomBot/Bugs. :) Salvidrim! 21:23, 24 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I meant that was the only known issue. Most of the others should be fixed. Noom talk stalk 21:01, 8 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

After an overly long family visit, server migration and some odd problems with PHP, I'm back on track and I'm just resolving a couple of problems with it's database. Noom talk stalk 21:01, 8 June 2012 (UTC) The bot will start it's first run in a minute, if anyone spots any bugs, please report them. The bot now also has a more informative log, available here which may provide some information on what went wrong. Noom talk stalk 21:57, 8 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

The AutoPatrol task will also run again shortly, with a slightly reduced workload limit, the maximum open requests are now capped at 3. I suffered a hard drive crash and lost the backup of the WP:FFD and WP:PUF discussion creation script, will have to recode this quickly tonight. Noom talk stalk 11:17, 11 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Glad your back edit

I am glad your back, I really appreciate your bot. I wonder if you know how I could get the Template:Infobox military unit added to the exclude in print list, or at least excluded in the print of all the articles in the Book:Arkansas Confederate Infantry Units. Thanks! Aleutian06 (talk) 21:24, 8 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I don't know about that, try asking at Books or perhaps Headbomb will know. Noom talk stalk 21:50, 8 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Noombot hasn't run in three weeks... edit

Any way to re-activate it? Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 14:03, 15 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Running. My server will be expiring shortly, and I won't have the funds to renew it. Would you be able to find another operator? The bot's source is available at github with instructions in README. Noom talk stalk 15:19, 15 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
I could run it myself for sure, assuming it can run on a Windows 7 machine. Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 16:09, 15 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Or maybe it could be moved to the toolserver? That would be even better. Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 16:11, 15 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
The script should run on any system with PHP 5 installed. My toolserver account expired a little while ago, but I'll see about getting it reactivated. Noom talk stalk 20:09, 15 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
My account at the toolserver has been renewed. I will spend a little while getting it to work correctly in the new environment and will also fix the bugs with piped link formatting before its next run. Noom talk stalk 14:34, 18 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Removing a line break for no reason edit

It's changing

non-free=}}
{{book report end}}

to

non-free=}}{{book report end}}

Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 17:28, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Fixed already, a line of debug made it in. Noom talk stalk 17:29, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

WP:PUF edit

Just a quick note, the bot seems to be forgetting to add the dated header in its edits like here, and I've had to do this manually myself. Can this be fixed? — ξxplicit 22:52, 3 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

My apologies, I'm currently out of the country and won't be able to fix the issue until next week. Will put it on my list of things to do once I'm back. Thanks (Noommos) 42.98.57.197 (talk) 04:59, 4 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Book:Arkansas Confederate Infantry Units edit

Would you run the bot on Book:Arkansas Confederate Infantry Units. Several articles have been reassessed and their current ratings are not showing.

For instance 20th Arkansas Infantry Regiment is now a B class. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Damon.cluck (talkcontribs)

The bot is now running with a couple of bugs fixed, which may have prevented it updating that books report. Check back if it hasn't this time. Noom talk stalk 23:31, 27 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! edit

I wasn't aware of book reports when I created Book:G.I. Joe, but I just wanted to pass along my appreciation for the info. Now I have a detailed checklist of issues that can be fixed on the articles included in the book. Thanks! Fortdj33 (talk) 12:51, 17 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

I'm glad you found it useful  . Feel free to leave any suggestions or improvements here. Noom (t) 14:06, 19 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please run a book report on Book:Arkansas Confederates, The Cavalry and Artillery Units‎. Thanks!Aleutian06 (talk) 01:11, 19 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Books edit

NoomBot is not running on the books? Is this a temporary problem? 202.54.176.14 (talk) 06:26, 30 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Any update on this? –Drilnoth (T/C) 19:08, 9 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
Due to financial issues, my server was suspended... I'll schedule this to run on the toolserver tomorrow :) Have a good new years! Noom (t) 22:24, 31 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
Is there anything that can be done to help get the bot back on line. It was a great tool for those editors working on books. Aleutian06 (talk) 19:34, 15 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

The Office season 8 and The X-Files season 7 edit

I just got an update that the former has 24 articles marked as unassessed, when all of the articles are GAs. As for the latter, it says that 2 are unassessed, when all of them are GAs as well.--Gen. Quon (Talk) 01:20, 4 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks for leaving a message. It's struggling on the page formatting, will fix it for next run. Noom (t) 12:34, 4 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi Noom, Can you explain this edit [1]. The edit summary is just gobbledegook to me. DexDor (talk) 20:30, 17 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Duplicated book reports edit

Hi,

Please take a look at User:NoomBot/Bugs#Duplicated book report. If this is something that is particularly tricky to fix, is there some edit that can be made to the page to get the bot to behave correctly? It seems to behave correctly on other pages, so I'm guessing there's something different about this one. – PartTimeGnome (talk | contribs) 00:07, 12 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Another "Traded_as" run edit

Would it be possible to another run of the bot to move stock ticker symbols to the "Traded_as" field (as was done here)? I've noticed several pages recently that have had ticker symbols added improperly since the last run (such as Sunsoft). Thanks. ▫ JohnnyMrNinja 18:59, 23 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Bot shutoff edit

Hi, I know a couple of bugs have been piling up for a little while in recent times, and I have been greatly inactive. I'll switch the bot off from my toolserver starting this evening. As much as I'd like to fix the bugs in the bot and continue running the tasks, I'm not able to do these things at this time. If you're interested in seeking a copy of the source code for any tasks, please email me, I doubt I will be on-wiki to read any messages left for me. Thank you, Noom (t) 17:17, 21 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

I apologise for the delays in addressing issues and requests left here and else where, thank you, Noom (t) 17:21, 21 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
