For some reason, I never got the ping in your reply, hence my own lack of replying. Definitely don't use that generator; I don't even know how to work that one. Instead, use the one listed beneath that at WP:COLOR - Snook's color contrast tool. Simply fill in your foreground (white/black) and background colours, then adjust the saturation and hue levels of the background colour until the Contrast Ratio gives 7 or above and WCAG 2 AAA Compliant (second from the bottom) gives YES (these two are connected, so if one is true, then so is the other). I made my edits based on the fact that the flag used by the Syrian opposition is not the original 1:2 "Independence flag" from 1932, but an altered variant with 2:3 proportions. This can be shown in images included in the following sources (there are more, but too many to list): [1], [2], [3] (from 2016), [4] (video of flag production), [5], [6] (Syria's seat at the Arab League). The final source containing an image from the Arab League could be taken as more official than the other sources listed due to the official nature of the Arab League. – Nick Mitchell 98 ^talk 05:12, 22 April 2016 (UTC)

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Win new channels?

Hi, thank you for your recent edit on the List of digital television channels in Australia page. I as just wondering what is you could add a Post-July 1st WIN collum? Here's what the channel numbers could look like.....

WIN is now an Ten affiliate and on LCN 5 and 50 in SD and LCN 51 in HD.

Eleven moves to LCN 52, but a simucast remains on LCN 55.

ONE moves to LCN 53.

GOLD still runs and moves to LCN 54.

WIN in Tasmania and Western Australia are still Nine affiliates with the Nine multi-channels, while Ten is still the "joint-venue" channel with the TEN multi-channels on LCN 50 (ONE) and LCN 55 (Eleven).

Hi. I am happy to add a column for WIN, however, there has been no official confirmation that WIN Corp and TEN Network have signed an affiliation agreement. As per WP:CRYSTALBALL, "Individual scheduled or expected future events should be included only if the event is notable and almost certain to take place...If preparation for the event is not already in progress, speculation about it must be well documented." As such, we cannot add this information until an official announcement of a signed deal is made, until then it's all speculation. Corrected SC10 post-July 1 channel LCNs

Hi, thanks for your recent edit on List of digital television channels in Australia, I just thought of a better version of the SC10 post-July 1 LCNs.

NBN can't change their affiliation and LCNs from July 1, so SC10 Northern NSW/Gold Coast QLD keep the Ten affiliation and the x5 multiplex:

5 for SC10 (main channel)

50 for One

54 for TVSN

55 for Eleven

56 for Aspire TV

Due to the Nine swap, SC10 Spencer Gulf SA/Broken Hill NSW switch to the x8 multiplex:

8 and 81 for SC10 (main channel)

80 for One

84 for TVSN

88 for Eleven

Hi. Due to the limited information available, it cannot be confirmed what will occur in NNSW broadcast area concerning LCNs for SC10 and NBN after 1 July. As such, the current list is indicative of the most likely scenario until such a time that more information is made available (which is SC10 being placed on LCN 8x in line with other Ten regional programming; SCA are unlikely to use different LCNs for Ten programming in different regions, they would want to keep it consistent with other broadcasters). – Nick Mitchell 98 ^talk 10:49, 13 June 2016 (UTC)

Australian TV Section Articles

Hi Nick Mitchell 98,

Firstly let me thank you for your appreciation :). It sure hasn't been easy trying to verify and add additional details to an article on stations up to 50 years old which serve a small section of Australia (which is illustrated by the fact that there were half a dozen sections I couldn't find sources for and have had to use citation needed bubbles in lieu).

In regards to the Lead, thank you for correcting it per Wikipedia's style guides. Previously I have only worked on new channels or on television series pages, using the MOS:TV style guide which states following the first paragraph of the Lead subsequent paragraphs should "...summarize the major points of the rest of the article...", to which I thought call signs, channel numbers, launch dates and channels qualified.

In regards to the name of the article, thank you again for correcting my mistake. You are correct in that I used the likes of GTS/BKN and SES/RTS as basis, which I now understand was incorrect. However, I must question as to whether there is a name which can be used to indicate that the article relates to all three stations. At the moment I have gotten the article to a good size (well in my opinion anyway), but I could take all details relating to AMN and MDN and put them in their own articles but they would only be stubs in size compared to MTN. Could the article be titled MTN, AMN and MDN (TV stations) or Television in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area instead? I realise AMN and MDN are secondary licenses but they have their own channels, their own transmitters, their own affiliates (look at the disaster currently happening at the moment which could see MDN without an affiliate this week), etc. and as such are as important as MTN – just not as old or have as an interesting a history.

Yes I live in the M.I.A., so I personally account for the fact that 7mate and 7TWO are broadcast on LCN 60 and 66 respectively. Some years ago there were additional LCN's for WIN's Seven affiliate (e.g. LCN 61), but currently there is only the one (LCN 6). NRN or SGS/SGN are NOT AVAILABLE on 51. Plus, turn NRN and SGS/SGN into a single SC10 collum.

SC9 is NOT AVAILABLE on 81 in Spencer Gulf SA/Broken Hill NSW (callsign: GDS/BDN). Plus, turn GDS/BDN into a separate GDS/BDN collum.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. It's always helpful when people who live in regional broadcast areas provide information concerning available television channels. However, I do not appreciate your rude tone when communicating this information to me. Politely noting that some of the information is incorrect by asking "Hi, I have noticed some errors in the TV channels article. x station is not available on x LCN etc. Could you please correct this?" is absolutely fine. But starting your message with a coarse "alright, alright...you must know this" then going on to demand "turn this into a separate collum" or "this is NOT AVAILABLE" is not an appropriate way to ask for help.

Continuing the mistakes.

....On the List of digital television channels in Australia page.

Firstly, Aspire TV stopped broadcasting in SCTV areas (Spencer Gulf SA/Broken Hill NSW, Darwin & Tasmania) on 29 August 2015 and got replaced by Racing.com (Yes, Aspire broadcasted on channel 66 in Spencer Gulf SA/Broken Hill NSW).

Second, Imparja Television is NOT AVAILABLE on 91, as Imparja is an remote broadcaster and are not allowed to duplicate their channels.

@180.200.150.14: I had to find additional online sources to show that Aspire TV was no longer broadcast via SCTV before I went ahead to remove them. Olympic Infobox

Hello Nick, seems perhaps our minds think very much alike? Just yesterday I'd noticed the lack of previous and next buttons on (for example) the Rio mainpage. I tried updating those pages with some of the documented variables... but just couldn't get it to work properly. So I started looking into Template editing more (I'd never gone that far before). Finally did make some headway into, but now I see you've been working upon it recently. If I see the history right, there was no previous or next at all until your edits yesterday??? Strange timing indeed! But from what I see, only the straight previous and next are working as of yet? So were you unfinished?? I see your inspiration Template:Infobox_games does indeed work correctly, but the example on the proper Template:Infobox_Olympic_games does not. If there happens to be a mistake there, and I'm using it wrong PLEASE do let me know! I would definitely be up for helping you sort it out if need be, and have idea to streamline it (instead of having the big mess of separate variable names, only half of which are used for each page, could we not just check the Season variable, and then have previous, next, previous_opposite_season, and next_opposite_season?). You know a ton more than me on this, but if we can work together to sort it out, and get the severely lacking better navigation buttons on many more pages across Wikipedia, it'd be great. @Pipera: Hi. Sorry about listing the wrong article in your edit notice, I am actively editing a number of articles at the moment and I must have gotten a little bit mixed up. I did originally mean The Block (Australian TV series).

Anyway, the reason that I reverted your edits was because: 1. The article has existed in the previous format for a very long period of time and there was no legitimate reason to alter it; and mainly, 2. The format you replaced it with negates the entire purpose of subheadings in the current Manual of Style. Each season is a sub-section that fits under the general "series overview" section, as can be shown in all other television series articles such as Breaking Bad, House Rules and many others. Your reasoning for making it "easier on mobile devices" is irrational as it goes against the current Manual of Style mentioned prior. – Nick Mitchell 98 ^talk 12:54, 23 August 2016 (UTC)

@Ncfriend: Hi. I deleted the infobox as the article details a "military faction that ruled Xinjiang during China's warlord era". All of the cliques were not separate countries, they were all part of China, but instead a collection of territories led by warlords. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

I work in ABC TV Marketing and we need to remove the old ABC HD logo on the wiki page. It's outdated and it doesn't match our current branding. We rather have no logo than show the old. Note: Could the new file also be the stacked version as seen in the promo with Justine Clarke? ABC HD launch date confirmed.

Hello Nick, and I'm sorry to say that ABC HD's launch date has been confirmed by the ABC. It's 6 December 2016, just like MediaSpy said. If you can look up the ABC on Twitter, you can see that the launch date for ABC HD is 6 December 2016. If you have seen it, please reply. New Challenge for Oceania and Australia

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Oceania/The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Australia/The 5000 Challenge are up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. The Australia challenge would feed into the wider region one and potentially New Zealand could have a smaller challenge too. The main goal is content improvement, tackling stale old stubs and important content and improving sourcing/making more consistent but new articles are also welcome if sourced. I understand that this is a big goal for regular editors, especially being summertime where you are, but if you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Oceania and Australia like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1700 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for the region but fuelled by a series of contests to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. The Africa contest scaled worldwide would naturally provide great benefits to Oceania countries, particularly Australia and attract new editors. I would like some support from existing editors here to get the Challenges off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile and potentially bring about hundreds of improvements in a few weeks through a contest!
