On August 14, 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Interstate 15 in Arizona, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

It's no problem. As to why that image was chosen, I have no idea; it may have been that because the photo contains patches of colours, mainly brown and blue, it is difficult to see at 100px size, while the black and white portrait doesn't have this issue. Laïka 11:23, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
Just wanted to say, congratulations on I-15 AZ. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 22:59, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Is there a reason you didn't use the image for this? I was going to notify RCMoeur that his photo was on the front page. --NE2 08:48, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Well there is usually a problem that supply of pictures > picture space. Only one picture is available for each slot and there are six-eight articles. Usually 3-4 of these have picture selections so some will miss out. I guess the picture didn't really grab me. Sometimes if the article is really good, it will have the picture even though the picture is not so good, but I didn't think that was the case her. Thanks, Blnguyen (bananabucket) 05:45, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Discovery Bridge (Yankton)

IMHO I believe this would be more of a WikiProject Bridges article than a USRD one. I am not changing the tag, but thought that I would suggest this. master sonT - C 17:24, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

NPOV

This image was tagged as non-NPOV by you. It appears to be some kind of postcard. I would be grateful if the tag was removed as one could simply tag all pictures of advertisements if this can be tagged. Thanks, Pheonix15 talk 21:40, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Change to non-standard title of New Jersey roads

As changed at this diff, why change New Jersey Route 3 (the article's actual title) to Route 3 (New Jersey)? Alansohn 07:14, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

  • That was part of the AWB script I used a while back to remove stuff such as New Jersey Route 3, with no piping, from articles. You're right that that part of my diff alone doesn't make any difference, but it was just part of the script, and I was also making another useful change at the same time. You should not have made your edit; see Wikipedia:Redirect#Don't change links to redirects that aren't broken. --NE2 07:17, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
    • I only corrected something that wasn't broken as part of other useful changes. The WP:REDIRECT "issue" is only relevant where the only changes are to avoid a redirect. I will be more than happy to revert your changes until the AWB script is corrected. Alansohn 07:21, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
I see that you also made another change. Feel free to waste your time, as long as your only changes are not useless. --NE2 07:23, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Please see to it that your AWB script is conforming with WP:USRD for road names, so that it is no longer needlessly changing article links from their proper titles. Alansohn 07:27, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
I think you mean WP:USSH, which actually tells you not to do what you are doing: "There is nothing wrong with linking to a redirect; do not "fix" these "pipe-tricked" links." --NE2 07:28, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Per WP:USSH, "When linking to a state highway article, be sure to use the official name, especially for the cases where the official name and article title are different." Please see to it that your script is corrected so that it no longer violates standards. I have only corrected the naming standard violations you introduced while making other article changes. I'll gladly stop "fixing" them when you stop "breaking" them. Alansohn 07:33, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
Look again at what the "official name" and "article title" are for New Jersey. That part of my edit was useless, but it did not break standards. --NE2 07:39, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Did the portion of your edits changing the link from the designated "article title" serve any useful purpose? Your arguments, at best, show that you might not be completely and totally "wrong", but they are certainly nonconforming with the policy established for such article titles and there is no valid reason that this policy should not be respected. Please fix the mistake in your script to ensure that no further unnecessary redirects are needlessly introduced. A simple OK, will address this issue. Alansohn 07:52, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Greenville Connector

Those websites are reliable source. Greenville website might have got infos from govt log. Interstate-Guide.com is a partly reliable source. Their last update was 2004 or 2005 so some infos can be outdated. Kurumi is total original source. I found alot of speculative roads on that article. Any reasons you delete everything from I-169 because govt. and communities did talk about I-169 route. Could they be because govt did not approve that route? Your edit to Access control

You will see that I changed this, because it refers to the Limited-access road mentioned in the article hatnote, rather than Access control. I was going to transfer it, but I saw that it's already dealt with there.

Exit lists

Umm, I recall that for the Interstate exit lists, we all have them in the same format. Even if it's one county, we still include it as part of the table. I learned how to do this here; check the first exit list. Artisol2345 16:53, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

So we should just leave it as a column. Unless other editors agree with you that the county shouldn't be in the column, then I still prefer to undo your revisions. Oh, and plus, you messed up the exit list on Interstate 97, but I'm sure it was an accident. You can check your revision here. Artisol2345 17:00, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
I gave you the link-- here.
Did you check the exit list?
Wait, wrong link-- back in a second to fix it
Never mind, that was my mess-up. Sorry about that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Artisol2345 (talkcontribs) 17:05, August 27, 2007 (UTC)
So how does the Wikipedia:Be_bold agree to your decision? I don't see anything pertaining to your saying "The entire route is in Anne Arundel County."
So I have another question: If you wanted to leave out the columns, what about a few articles that do have one-county columns like... Interstate 15 in Nevada or Interstate 110 (California) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Artisol2345 (talkcontribs) 17:16, August 27, 2007 (UTC)
Well I did for the County Columns, but the city column for Los Angeles in [[Interstate 110 (California) was like that. So I added the county columns to be consistent will all the other table of exit lists.
What, I suppose you are going to fix it so that there's a "The entire route is in *INSTERT COUNTY NAME HERE*."? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Artisol2345 (talkcontribs) 17:20, August 27, 2007 (UTC)

Canada naming conventions

Please read again WP:WPCR#Naming_conventions. The convention calls for naming Alberta highways as "Alberta provincial highway x" and "Alberta Secondary Highway x". --Qyd 22:00, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

OK, then could you please update the convention listing? Your edit summaries point to a page that (as it is now) contradicts your actions. Cheers. --Qyd 22:13, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Saskatchewan Highway 623

Hello there. Regarding the route deleted from above said article. Other articles list sections named Intersections from west to east and put the information into tabular format..such as Saskatchewan Highway 1. Articles such as Saskatchewan Highway 623 used a listing format which basically does the same information. The information was paraphrased, wikilinked, modified and adapted from microsoft streets and tips to provide the same information. It was not meant to be a travel guide, but rather the format, function of the road/highway in relation to others. SriMesh | talk 03:48, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

New Template for Nova Scotia roads

I created the following template yesterday.

I believe that it is superior to the 100-series template that exists since it encompasses all NS roads instead of just the 100-series. What do you think? Andrew647 00:37, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

That's a good point. I created this just as an idea to put forward to replace the 100-series template. If you continue to add the infobox to all Nova Scotia roads, should that template be removed as well? Andrew647 00:45, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

A VERY SERIOUS, STRONG objection to the master templates

Hi NE2,

I have noticed you have cleared all the master templates of the roads sorted by provinces. This is unacceptable, at least that is what I think. The templates provide a very convenient access of roads from counties to counties (or cities to cities, province to province, whatever the case might be), and should not be removed.

Your ONT 400 highways is also very unorganized. Although you think you have shrunk its size, you are making it very confusing to read.

Without concensus, you should not have done such major changes to the master templates. It is perfectly appropriate to create master templates like {{Roads in Nova Scotia Cities}}, which is a whole lot different than what your edit summary said.

 Smcafirst | Chat  at 00:38, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

P.S. I will not reply during weekdays since I am busy with schoolwork.

This discussion, coupled with your edit war over the {{NS Roads and Highways}} template, should be reviewed at WPCR. Andrew647 18:36, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Your edits to British roads

Can you please at least discuss changes to articles on roads in Britain before making them. You're currently changing "Multiplex" to Overlap (road). Overlap only exists as a redirect to Concurrency (road), and I have never heard the term used in this context in British English. I appreciate it's a WP:USRD decision, but WP:USRD is specifically about US roads, which use a different set of terminology and in this case appears to be inappropriate in a non-US contextiridescent (talk to me!) 22:21, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

(crossposted)
I've not got a problem with getting rid of "multiplex" - I think it's horribly confusing (as people assume it relates to the construction firm) as well as an ugly neologism - but "overlap" isn't the appropriate thing to change it to in a UK context. On the couple of articles where I've re-changed it, I've amended it to [[Concurrency (road)|concurrency]], as a least-worst option - it's the name we use for the article itself, after alliridescent (talk to me!) 22:35, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Your nominations for deletion

I, and the rest of the Wikiproject Canadian Roads are asking you to stop nominating everything for deletion and blanking everything. it is vandalism and will not be tolerated. if you do not stop, you will be blocked from editing. RingtailedFoxTalkStalk 00:12, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

I think so, and know so. You need to stop this vandalism at once. I've read the article, and what you've done qualifies as vandalism. RingtailedFoxTalkStalk 00:14, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Please read WP:VAND before continuing. Good faith edits are not vandalism. --Rschen7754 (T C) 00:22, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
I agree 100% with RingtailedFox. You need to stop this at once. Stop blanking out pages. I cannot say anything more but what RingtailedFox said.
By the way, I still disagree the fact that you think Infobox Road could "take over" the job of the templates. If infobox could serve as templates, then what are templates for? I like the way you made improve the infobox, but that does not mean I agree with the fact Infobox Road could take over. Say if I want to jump from Highway 2 to Highway 148, I could not do it by clicking the next consecutive highway over and over again. Yes, I could do it by using List of Ontario Provincial highways, but it would be too time consuming to search for it in such a big list (you know, the list has other introductions and texts as well).
 Smcafirst | Chat  at 00:23, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
However, the templates are too big and are red-link farms, which are not recommended in articles. I do have to agree with NE2 and Rschen7754 for NE2's actions that may have made two people in a walled garden WikiProject to overreact. RingtailedFox and Smcafirst, please calm down from this; you guys are making this much worse than it can be at this point. —O () 00:39, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

If you're going to be having a discussion between each other, please take it elsewhere (WT:CRWP?); I'm still doing the AWB "multiplex" run, and each new message stops the process. Thank you. --NE2 00:42, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Overlap?

In articles such as Ohio State Route 273, I have no complaint about changing "multiplex" to "overlap" in the text if it's the result of consensus, but why are you changing the link itself to "overlap" away from "concurrency" when the latter is the article title? Nyttend 03:30, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Of course there's nothing wrong with a redirect, but why change a link away from the article's title itself to a redirect? It's as if you changed links to "Ohio State Route 273" to links to "Ohio State Highway 273". Nyttend 03:38, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
Well I can't understand it, but your explanation makes sense to me :-) Could you please reformat your regex, whatever that is, so that it won't change links away from Concurrency (road)? Nyttend 03:45, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

List of Saskatchewan provincial roads

I put the article in the List of Saskatchewan provincial roads as I didn't know what to name it. The request was made to have an article which defined or supported a list. SriMesh | talk 04:29, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Reply to note + Template:King's Highway for deletion

No problem, although I have to disagree about the King's Highway template for deletion (unlike the category before), unless there is a similar Ontario provincial highways template. Reason why, a template is more user friendly for those who don't want to search throughout a long list of roads like in Ontario, they can automatically accessed via the article itself. The infobox browser is also very useful for those who likes to navigate one by one mostly for updates and fixes, just like I've done over the past few days with the Quebec Routes. Thus I prefer that a Wikipedia article must as much user reader friendly as possible - thus having much links/ways possible to navigate (except clear duplications such as the King's and Ontario provincial highway cats - the King's naming being less familiar to people outside of Ontario).

As for the template size, I don't know if there is a way to automatically hide the content of the template (when first seeing the article) when there is no other templates (I guess that when one other template exists the new one that is inserted is automatically in a hide-mode). That would probably ease concerns for those who believe that templates are too big or uses to much space into an article. Anyway, there are very useful as much as the infobox browser.JForget 19:17, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Unsourced elements in some Quebec Autoroute articles

Sorry to bother you again, but I think this and this and possibly Transports Quebec may be the best sources for various exit and mis info on Quebec Autoroutes while this this & this may be the more useful ones for Ontario. I could in the coming days for the Quebec Autoroute articles this fix some of the details.

And finally there is definitely a second section of Quebec Autoroute 5 in which it is signed A-5 concurrently with H-105 and H-366 in La Peche and this was like that since at least the mid 1990's as I during that time often passed through that area while heading to La Peche or Gracefield. At the end of the freeway section of the 5/105/366 there is a sign of A-5's second terminus.--JForget 19:28, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

I see that the Google Map does mark the section between H-366 and MacLaren Road as HWY-5. The reason why Transport Quebec doesn't mark it, is probably because that second stretch is so small (I think it's probably only about 2 kilometers long - so we only see the red-white section only without the A-5 shield). Understand that may not be the shortest Quebec freeway section, but that may very well be the shortest segment which is a designated Autoroute - there is also no interchanges as well, only intersections and without traffic lights.--JForget 17:10, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Re: ATSF 17

The closest that I could find on that one is a single photo of an F7B in Kansas City from 1973; the photo description page notes that the locomotive was scrapped in 1981, so I don't see how it could be used to unload containers in San Diego today. Expanding the search to BNSF 17 returned no additional results in my resources, so that one we can let go. Slambo (Speak) 11:19, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
