Hello, I'm Geniac. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Chaya Singh, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Geniac (talk) 15:49, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Colonel Mahboob Ahmad moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Colonel Mahboob Ahmad, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 14:13, 24 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello Mrjoegoldberg! While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 17:16, 2 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hey Whpq thanks you for noted me! these mistake's are genuine, I am very sorry for this, I will take care of this in future. And I will try not to make such mistake in future. Mr Goldberg 17:45, 2 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi Mrjoegoldberg! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you.   Please stop. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at Kfar Aza massacre, you may be blocked from editing. Claiming "non-notable" for one of the most media-covered events is not serious and makes it hard to assume good faith. This seems like pure WP:IDONTLIKEIT Jeppiz (talk) 08:38, 12 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed maintenance templates from Mohammad Shafiur Rahman Ansari. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Please see Help:Maintenance template removal for further information on when maintenance templates should or should not be removed. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you're going to remove maintenance tags, please make sure they no longer apply, and only remove the ones that have been addressed. Tagged WP:BLP on Khan Ghufran Zahidi

edit

Hi @Mrjoegoldberg: following your creation of the article Khan Ghufran Zahidi, I added the biography project tag {{WikiProject Biography}} with the living parameter because the article did not specify if the subject was living or deceased; it did not provide a death date but was written in past tense about the subject's career. If you believe this was an error, I recommend adding a reliable source for the death of the subject and then the biography of living persons policy won't apply. Thanks, microbiologyMarcus (petri dish) 14:03, 17 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks you for noticing me. Actually I am also unable to find his death date. But I am trying. I will update the article as soon as the death date is received.
again thanks you. Regards. Mr Goldberg 14:11, 17 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Ways to improve Mishkat Al-anwar

edit

Hello, Mrjoegoldberg,

Thank you for creating Mishkat Al-anwar.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

In spite of six sources, this stub tells the reader nothing about the content or notability of the book. If this cannot be remedied, the page should probably be nominated for deletion. I'm holding off on that, however, in the hopes that what's here can be fleshed out a little bit with appropriate sourcing.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|PatrickJWelsh}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.
