To the best of our knowledge, we have not violated the law in any of that. Please help us if you can and kindly advice us Michellelaylo (talk) 04:46, 23 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited The Kanoo Group, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Gulf and Fabricator. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello Michellelaylo! Your additions to The Kanoo Group have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 21:17, 29 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Giraffer. I wanted to let you know that one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to The Kanoo Group—has been undone because it appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thank you. Giraffer (talk·contribs) 11:52, 20 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to The Kanoo Group. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Giraffer (talk·contribs) 12:04, 20 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello Michellelaylo. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Michellelaylo. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Michellelaylo|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Giraffer (talk·contribs) 12:05, 20 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to The Kanoo Group, you may be blocked from editing. Philipnelson99 (talk) 04:36, 22 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising, as you did with this edit to The Kanoo Group. Philipnelson99 (talk) 04:56, 22 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use, as you did at The Kanoo Group. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Well, for one thing you're making us dizzy with this switching back and forth between singular and plural. We strongly prefer one user, one account. Second, so the person who started this account under her own name has left the company and yet you still have the password? This does not fill us with confidence regarding not only the first concern but, at the most basic level, our network security (Who else has the password?). Third, you don't seem to show any understanding that if we did let you edit, you couldn't edit the article about your company. And, in fact, looking over the deleted article, not only is it wildly promotional ("The Kanoo family's commitment to ethics and values has been a critical factor in the company's success, with a robust company culture emphasizing professional and personal growth and employees being treated like next-of-kin.") in a way that violates our editorial policies, it does not even indicate, citing no sources whatsoever, that Kanoo is notable enough for us to have an article. — Daniel Case (talk) 07:32, 1 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

This shows no understanding of the problems here. Do not make another unblock request like this. Additionally, as this account is no longer controlled by the original owner, it is considered WP:COMPROMISED and no further unblock requests will be considered. Even if that was not the case, you've demonstrated you should definitely not be editing Wikipedia. Yamla (talk) 11:06, 6 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
