Welcome! edit

Hello, Mcnordine, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you created or edited appears to be an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page. If your contributions to an existing article about yourself are undone and you wish to add to it, please propose the changes on its talk page.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

December 2020 edit

Hello. Your recent edit to List of Romani people appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. EvergreenFir (talk) 06:46, 4 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, wrong template. Please stop adding names whose articles do not clearly support inclusion in the list. Picasso, for example, doesnt mention Romani at all. EvergreenFir (talk) 06:48, 4 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at List of Romani people. EvergreenFir (talk) 06:56, 4 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello Evergreen Fir I am sure you mean well but you may not be knowledgeable with regards to Roma culture and Roma history. There are many difficulties citing information with regards to Roma people, the main one being that it is an aural culture still today and therefore citations are difficult and sometimes impossible to find. The level of institutional racism that this culture has undergone surpasses anything I have come across so far - and I have studied and followed issues with regards to Black Americans. Having a comprehensive list of notable Romani people is helpful and excluding known Romas on the basis of references seems mean. Picasso was Roma and so was Charlie Chaplin.
