Great Plains Institute

Hi, thanks for message. You can sign your comments automatically using four tildes ~~~~. Please don't remove speedy deletion notices yourself; you must leave them for an admin to make a decision, and it looks like bad faith editing to try to evade that. I deleted your article because

  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the organisation, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the organisation claims or interviewing its management. You gave no references of any kind
  • You gave us absolutely no facts that show that the organisation meets our notability criteria, such as numbers of staff, funding or expenditure. For all we are told, it could be two people based in someone's spare room
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: been devoted to research and analysis, policy development, technology acceleration, and local action, that leads to the transition to clean, efficient, and secure energy.
  • Your opinion that For people here in Minneapolis GPI has a lot of relevance and your removal of the speedy deletion tag suggest that you may have a conflict of interest when editing this article; if so you must declare it. If, after reading the information about notability linked above, you still believe that your organisation is notable enough for a Wikipedia article (and that there is significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources), you could, if you wish, post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created. See also Wikipedia:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest.
  • In particular, if you are employed directly or indirectly by the organisation, or otherwise have a financial stake in promoting this topic, that is classed as paid advocacy. Paid advocacyis a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization, directly or indirectly, to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are paid directly or indirectly by the company you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Mauriciol1991. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Mauriciol1991|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message.

Once you have replied to the COI query above, you should consider whether your organisation actually meets our notability criteria, and can be verified using independent third-party sources as linked above. If it doesn't meet our criteria, it's a waste of your time to recreate. If it does, I'm willing to sandbox the infobox code for you to save you starting from scratch. There is no point posting you the one paragraph of fact-free promotional text though. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:57, 21 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
