Hi Mathewjane - the above welcome template hopefully provides some useful links and information about getting started here. Having noticed the statement on your user page, I thank you for disclosing the nature of the edits you intend to make. Since you indicate that you are going to be editing on behalf of clients, please take time to familiarise yourself with the following:

  • COI outlines the steps you need to take when editing in an area where you have a conflict of interest (for example, any content that you have a financial interest in)
  • PAID outlines the requirements and limitations that will apply when you are editing for pay
  • This page is the Wikimedia Foundations Terms of Use, which you agree to abide by whenever you publish edits here, and which also touch upon paid editing.

Please read all of these carefully, and let me know if you have any questions by posting a note on my talk page. Best GirthSummit (blether) 10:47, 3 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

I would also add Wikipedia:Ownership of content to your reading list. It's important for editors and any clients they represent to understand that all content contributed to Wikipedia isn't owned or controlled by any single person, and it can be edited, copied, distributed and adapted for derivative works, even for commercial purposes. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 13:58, 9 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Girth Summit: Hi Girth May I know how can I save changes while creating my first draft via "Articles for Creation" method? I can see only the "Publish Page" button. Please can you tell me how can I save my page before I submit it for review? I want to take my time and proofread it before submitting.--Mathewjane (talk) 12:17, 16 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Mathewjane, hi. I can't see that you have edited any drafts in your contributions history. If you go to AfC, and follow the instructions at the top of the page, you will be able to create a draft, which will have a 'Submit for review' button for you to click. @Girth Summit: Hi Girth Can you please tell me what is the estimated time taken to complete the review of draft articles? I had resubmitted my article after making the necessary changes last week. My draft article is still awaiting review but my first submission was reviewed quickly. Is there anything else that I should do? Please respond. Mathewjane (talk) 13:30, 21 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi - the wait time can be quite long I'm afraid, there are lots of drafts and all the reviewers are volunteers. I have to tell you though that I wouldn't accept the draft in its current state. The only references you have are interviews with the CEO of the company - none of them would contribute towards notability. Please read NCORP carefully, and bear in mind that anything that the CEO says in an interview counts as a primary, affiliated source. You need secondary, independent sources - stuff that is written about the company by somebody else, not interviews with people connected with it. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 13:39, 21 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Girth Summit: Hi Girth Thanks for responding. Since my subject is an online poker company, can I cite websites that fall under a similar category and are also ready to publish content as secondary or independent sources? ( like https://pokerbrainz.com/, https://mygames365.com/) I would specifically like to know whether Wikipedia accepts online startup platforms like yourstory.com and platforms like https://medium.com/ as a reference. Can you please clarify on the same Mathewjane (talk) 11:37, 26 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Mathewjane, The sourcing needs to be independent, secondary and reliable - follow those links to find out more. Stuff that it independent and secondary, but not reliable, is not acceptable, and I don't believe that any of the websites you mentioned would be considered reliable. Hello, Mathewjane. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Pokersaint".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 16:15, 2 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
