  It may not have been your intention, but one of your edits, specifically one that you made on Chahamanas of Shakambhari, may have been a change that some consider controversial. Due to this, your edits may have been reverted. When making possibly controversial changes, it is good practice to first discuss your edit on the article's talk page before making it, to gain consensus over whether or not to include the text, phrasing, etc. If you believe that the information you added was correct, please initiate that discussion. Thank you. ∆ P&t ♀√ (talk) 00:39, 2 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

This article is moved to this Draft: Haryana Gaur Brahmin. So kindly ignore the below article.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Haryana gaur brahmin, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. (See section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
  • It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. – dudhhr talk contribs (he/they) 16:25, 21 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Draft:Captain Deepak Sharma

edit

If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

The page Draft:Captain Deepak Sharma has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appeared to be a direct copy from https://www.tribuneindia.com/news/archive/haryanatribune/for-capt-deepak-sharma-army-was-his-first-love-712639. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition has been be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion Review. Please sign all talkpage posts with four tildes, ~~~~, which will turn into your signature and timestamp when you publish. You have recreated the article, which had been moved to draft because it wasn't ready for article space, directly in main space now, and the direct copypastes from your source are still there, while moved around a bit. I repeat what I said above:
You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
Did you consult Wikipedia's copyright policy as requested before recreating the article? Or read my warning above carefully? It doesn't look like it. I have deleted the article again. The next time you violate our copyright policy, you will be blocked. Bishonen | tålk 08:06, 26 April 2023 (UTC).Reply
Sorry I was busy for some time I will create and complete this article according to the rules thanks for the support.

Introduction to contentious topics

edit

You have recently edited a page related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Hello , @Bishonen I got your point and admit my mistake that I directly published the article without changes or writing from scratch but when the article was deleted I complete the article from scratch. And almost 4 hours were spent on the creation of that article so kindly undelete the article and check or give me 24 hours and I will completely create the article from scratch from the deleted article. Marx lenin2.0 (talk) 08:26, 26 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
It was still full of direct copypaste from https://www.tribuneindia.com/news/archive/haryanatribune/for-capt-deepak-sharma-army-was-his-first-love-712639. I can see you moved the long quote (which you apparently got from Gazette of India; it's in several places on the internet) in under a header of "citation" but that does not mean you can copypaste such a long passage. The sentence about his grandfather was directly from the source... so was the sentence about his engagement. One of the links to a source is broken, by the way, and leads to a 404 Not Found. And I do not believe you wrote the whole long second paragraph, or any part of it, yourself. Look, articles must not be written in such a way. No way will the article be undeleted, and if you rewrite it again, you need to be much more careful (and you need much better sources with more facts in them. Obituaries are not exactly neutrally written, I think you will agree). You are very close to being blocked from Wikipedia for persistent copyright violations. Bishonen | tålk 08:42, 26 April 2023 (UTC).Reply
Thanks , for your suggestion and I will rewrite the article with more proper sources.
" I can see you moved the long quote (which you apparently got from Gazette of India; it's in several places on the internet) in under a header of "citation" but that does not mean you can copy paste such a long passage."
For this I am just following different Wikipedia pages in which citation mentioned completely as it is like this one : Mohit Sharma. I am just following this page. Marx lenin2.0 (talk) 08:52, 26 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I see. That makes it easier to understand why you set it up in the same way. But unfortunately that article was not a good model in respect of the long quotation from the source. I have removed it from there as a copyright violation. I looked for other copyvios in the text of that article, but found none, so I didn't delete the whole article. Your Captain Deepak Sharma, by contrast, was riddled with copypasted long sentences from the internet. Bishonen | tålk 15:05, 26 April 2023 (UTC).Reply

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

edit

  Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Tyagi into Draft:Haryana Gaur Brahmin. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 15:52, 27 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

  Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to Gaur Brahmins. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 11:33, 29 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

An article you recently created, Pandit Kirpa Singh Dutt, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia).   Hello Marx lenin2.0! Your additions to Raja Khushal Singh Jamadar have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Nobody (talk) 13:13, 15 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
