January 2021 edit

Hello, I'm Darren-M. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Tbilisi Art Gallery, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Darren-M talk 21:15, 22 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

May 2021 edit

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

don't understand what this is, I'm not sanctioned I don't break rules, nonsense --LeontinaVarlamonva (talk) 17:56, 2 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
No, it is notifying you that there are discretionary sanctions in place for BLP articles, including that of Vladimir Pozner Jr., and failure to comply with policies can result in sanctions. Mellk (talk) 08:29, 4 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

By the way, I hope you noticed, but I think that patronymic you use for your user name has a spelling error. Never mind though. Have fun!--VisioncurveTimendi causa est nescire 04:54, 21 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Such nice surprice, thank you. And yes, I realized my patronymic is misspelled but I realize that too late :-( so I leave it like that haha --LeontinaVarlamonva (talk) 16:49, 21 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hounding edit

After our content dispute at Russo-Georgian War, I believe you have followed me to COVID-19 misinformation by China, specifically in order to revert my edits there. This in itself is inappropriate behavior (see WP:HOUNDING). Making this even worse, you are adding back in old news articles that contain what turned out to be incorrect speculation about the death toll in China. There have subsequently been peer-reviewed articles on both the death toll and total number of infected individuals in Wuhan and Hubei province. I have already posted one such study (on seroprevalence in Wuhan) on the talk page. But beyond this, following me around to revert my edits is inappropriate, and doing so to reinsert old, incorrect speculation about the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic is even more inappropriate. -Thucydides411 (talk) 11:27, 30 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

I did not realize I am limited in seeing and challenging other edits as well on different pages. It caught my eye and I got interested that is all. --LeontinaVarlamonva (talk) 00:17, 1 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Note edit

I see that you have reverted the edits of COVID-19 misinformation by China and Transnistria articles made by Thucydides411 and myself respectively. While you are free to edit any article in accordance with the rules of Wikipedia, please note that following a certain editor around Wikipedia may amount to harassment. Transcaucasian Democratic Federative Republic Images edit

Regarding the images on Transcaucasian Democratic Federative Republic, it's not just a case of people having lived in the period, but you need to confirm that the image was published before 1926. There's no evidence that either one was, so they can't be used at the time. If you can confirm they were first published then, I'm happy to keep them there, and indeed would prefer them. However I recently had the article at WP:FAC, and am working to re-nominate it again shortly, and the image reviewers there will confirm the same thing. So these images can't be used without proper attribution. Kaiser matias (talk) 16:10, 2 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

I think you are applying unreasonable double standards. For example, this image you have restored is based on some link/pdf that does not exist (404 not found), so as far I am concerned, this file has no "evidence" either and I need take word of someone who uploaded it a decade ago. We should be reasonable and not nitpick this type of thing.--LeontinaVarlamonva (talk) 16:13, 2 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
It's not my standard, don't get me wrong; like I said, I'd much prefer to keep the images you uploaded, but they have been shot down as there is no confirmed publication date for them. And in the case of the Chkheidze image you mention, while the link is dead, it does specifically list a book : 3-й созыв Государственной Думы [Текст] : портреты, биографии, автографы which was published in 1910. So it's clearly good to go. That said, I'm going to nominate the article now at FAC, and I definitely welcome you to comment there as I see you are familiar with the topic, and would appreciate someone who has an understanding to review it as well. I'm not referencing youtube, I'm referencing news agencies that happen to also post their content on youtube, I think there is a difference. It's not random person making videos on youtube. I can replace some with direct links to news agencies though I don't think it makes difference, YouTube is more user friendly--LeontinaVarlamonva (talk) 09:20, 5 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
just updated one of the links, will find more direct news agency link when I have time.--LeontinaVarlamonva (talk) 10:05, 5 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

August 2021 edit

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. CMD (talk) 16:55, 5 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

This is highly unfair, you came in and started capricious edits only describing them in edit summaries, nothing stopped oyu from discussing after I challenge you, your conduct is very inappropriate and now you go to threaten me, which is worse.--LeontinaVarlamonva (talk) 16:58, 5 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Edit warring at New York Times edit

Hi LeontinaVarlamonva! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of New York Times several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:New York Times, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war.
As you may have seen, your edits have already been removed a second time by a different editor. Please use the article talk page and please review the linked policies and guidelines that explain the problems with the article text and sources you inserted..

Tigran Honents edit

I am not sure I am getting your point about Ani's Tigran Honents being "Georgian". You might be right, I don't know, but you have been unable to provide any reliable source to back-up your point, only random websites [1][2]. This WP:RS book describes Tigran Honets as being built under the rule of the Armenian Zakarids: Eastern Turkey: An Architectural & Archaeological Survey p.358. You need to use verifiable and reliable source (see WP:RS), otherwise your point cannot stand, and repeated tagging and edit warring might be considered as vandalism. I have completed the article with a strong source [3], which describes the church as having been built under the Zakarids, dedicated by an Armenian donor (Tigran Honents), with a Byzantine stylistic program and explanatory labels in Greek and Georgian and dedications in Armenian, and serving a combined community of Armenians and Georgians. Please have a read.पाटलिपुत्र (Pataliputra) (talk) 04:18, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, I just removed dispute tags because sources you added cover more angles than what was there before. I think it provides better view of complex history of the church, with other non-Armenian aspects as well. Thanks for your contribution to this.--LeontinaVarlamonva (talk) 17:12, 31 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
