Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Roberto Di Matteo without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry: I restored the removed content. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! Mattythewhite (talk) 14:37, 27 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or change content, as you did to Manuel Pellegrini, without verifying it by citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Mattythewhite (talk) 14:51, 27 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Non Playing Staff on 2013–14 Manchester City F.C. season

edit

Hi Lejlabrahimi,

I notice that you've twice undone revisions I've made to this section. As I've already commented on the talk page:

Are extensive details of the Non playing structure of the club necessary on a page just devoted for the season 2013-14? These same details are already stated in detail on the Manchester City F.C page and are just repeated here. Once a new coach/manager and his team have been appointed this section will grow larger and is not really adding anything new to the coverage of the club on Wikipedia.

Can you please explain why you feel strongly that these additional tables are necessary here ?

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did at Rafael Benítez, you may be blocked from editing. Thank you. Mattythewhite (talk) 16:47, 29 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

2013–14 Manchester City F.C. season

edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on 2013–14 Manchester City F.C. season. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Paul  Bradbury 08:32, 30 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

An apology

edit

Hey there. I've noticed that you've been in a bit of a stand-off with several other editors (and latterly, myself) on the 2013–14 Manchester City F.C. season article over format styles. I came here to check out your talk page and what I've seen is that most things said are just demands to stop; I wanted to break that trend and try to speak to you on amicable terms. I hope you'll read this and hear me out.

I appreciate that you want to help out and that you've surely seen the style that a number of other major season articles use, and perhaps have even seen references to Manuals of Style and the idea that such articles should have a unified layout. Unfortunately, that rule is not universal, and we on the Manchester City articles have a long history of designing things the way that we think looks best and not necessarily the way everyone else thinks. Hence when people come along and try to revert our articles to the more common style, we generally change them straight back.

We'd be happy to have you join our ranks if you want to be an editor on our pages, but please bear in mind that we've been making these articles for about the last 6 years, and so we are a little particular about the way we do things. We will always consider new ideas but it's best to propose them first and not just put them straight in. You can make a suggestion for an improvement here on the article's "Talk" page - just find the tab at the top-right that says "New section" and write your ideas in there, a bit like it was an email. Make sure you write ~~~~ at the end - Wikipedia will automatically turn it into a namestamp that says who wrote the message and when they wrote it - like the one on the end of my message here. Also be aware that if we think a change detracts from the style we have created, we may not all agree with it - but everything changes over time, and our articles are sure to get longer, not shorter, so you may find that attitudes change over time. I know they do with me.

If you have any further questions then you can chat to me on my own talk page. You can find it by clicking the "Talk" on my namestamp signature and then, again, clicking "New section" to leave me a message. Again, namestamp with ~~~~ so I know who the message is from (I could work it out without, but it just makes life easier).

So once again, sorry about the way we have introduced you to Wikipedia. This place can be a very friendly and fun place to be, but unfortunately we got off on the wrong foot here. I hope this won't negatively impact your opinion of us, or Wikipedia. Falastur2 Talk 16:07, 31 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
