Thank you for attending! Wiki World's Fair - Your complimentary shirt!

Thank you User:Legoktm for attending the Wiki World's Fair at the Queens Museum in August! A round of applause to all who attended, socialized, gave lightning talks, edited, listened, and toured the Panorama of the City of New York. Thank you to Xavier Robles-Armas and the Queens Museum for having us. For the first time in Wikimania history, we held a T-shirt design contest during the event to generate a shirt for the conference. We are excited to announce we have produced a shirt with the winning design by User:Bagelpigeon. As previously announced, the shirts will be given, free of charge, to those that attended the conference. You are a confirmed attendee and now is your chance to claim your free shirt! If you want a shirt, we need your size!

What size are you? Please fill out this Google form or email: Wil@Wikimedianyc.org (One "L") Once we have everyone's size and we will order them and distribute them at local meet-ups or via mail. If you are out of town, please include your mailing address. The shirts will be available Feb or later.

(User:Pharos, seen here wearing a size large)

Please let us know by January 15 or come to Wikipedia Day 2023 at the Jefferson Market Library and let us know in person!

Issues with two requests for comment on the same article talk page

edit

User:Legobot added the same RFC ID to two different RFCs at Talk:Conservative Party of British Columbia (see [16] and [17]), posted only one of the two RFCs on the same article talk page at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Politics, government, and law (see [18]), and listed only one of the two RFCs at Wikipedia:Dashboard/Requests for comment (see [19]). Would deeply appreciate it if you could fix this. PoliticalPoint (talk) 06:02, 17 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

@PoliticalPoint: You already posted this at User talk:Legobot#Issues with two requests for comment on the same article talk page, please observe WP:MULTI. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 08:38, 17 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Invitation to participate in a research

edit

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team

Perception of perceptions

edit

I do not see how my interpretation was wrong but I think we are speaking past each other and it might even come across as that I am not assuming good faith of you. I was, perhaps unduly, worried about the (inadvertent) implications of your statement given the incumbent government's efforts—well documented in academic scholarship—to create a homogenous identity of Indians/Hindus predicated on jingoism among other stuff.

In any case, I will like to read about your perception, if you feel comfortable sharing via email. Regards, TrangaBellam (talk) 04:27, 3 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
