35th Kisei edit

This is an automated message from VWBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of 35th Kisei, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://gogameguru.com/iyama-yuta-leads-cho-u-kisei-2011.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) VWBot (talk) 03:11, 6 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Lin Zhihan edit

The article Lin Zhihan has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Great work edit

Hi Leesed0l. Many thanks for all the splendid work you've been doing on Go articles - and I'm sure you're more than qualified to make them! [I'm a keen (and rather weak) amateur player in the UK, myself.]

I wonder if you knew there's a Wikipedia:WikiProject_Go project too? Would you have time to review its contents perhaps? You're more than welcome to join it, of course, esp. if you can think of general ideas or improvements to Wikipedia (WP)'s Go coverage.

There's also the

This user is a participant in WikiProject Go.

'userbox', that you may then care to put on your as yet unused User:Leesed0l (and hence still red) User page.

Oh - one thing - re Nie Weiping - you wrote 'gained notoriety'. I've changed it to 'became famous', as generally notoriety implies the opposite ('infamy') - hope you don't mind.

Another thing - in case it's of use to you - there's a 'suggested sources' for Go players here.

Again, welcome to WP. Best wishes, Trafford09 (talk) 23:12, 22 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Oh - PS: please would you mind providing a wp:ES for future edits - to help other editors - thanks. Trafford09 (talk) 23:15, 22 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the warm welcome. I'm fairly new to this whole Wikipedia thing. Mostly I would use the articles at Sensei's Library to find information about certain go topics, but they aren't really sourced well so I'm not sure if what I'm reading is true. That's why I joined Wikipedia. I didn't know of a Wikiproject that involved Go, that's exciting! I would love to join. If I could bother you for something, could you please look at the discussion at Talk:Go players? Thank you. Leesed0l (talk) 16:37, 24 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Glad to be of any help. Nice to see you've joined the Go project. I've added my tuppence-worth to the discussion you drew me to. As for the naming conventions (e.g. Asian), well - I'm no expert on such things. I think I know a man who may, however, so you might care to ask him? He's User:Charles Matthews - an amateur UK Go-player and Wikipedia admin.. Anway, if I can be of any future assistance, please don't hesitate to ask me on my Talk page. Until such time, happy editing! Trafford09 (talk) 23:01, 24 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
