MfD nomination of User:Knoah/sandbox edit

User:Knoah/sandbox, a page which you created or substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Knoah/sandbox and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Knoah/sandbox during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 23:15, 18 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Copying edit

Hi Knoah: Seeing your query on Drmies' talk page, I've looked at your sandbox and I do see a copyright problem. To do your rewrites, you've been copying in the code for the existing Wikipedia pages. For example, from Zoo Interchange, with this edit. You don't provide an edit summary for that or, it seems, any other edits there. But attribution is required when copying within Wikipedia—i.e., you need to give credit to the original writers of the page by saying you are copying, and from where. See this page. The easiest method is to say in the edit summary something like: "Copying [[Zoo Interchange]] for expansion". Not to have a statement of any kind is a copyright violation, even though it was copied from Wikipedia itself. Needless to say it's also a copyright violation if you copy wording from anywhere else that isn't explicitly stated to be copyright-free, even if you later change the wording, but I suspect you didn't realize the rule extended to Wikipedia articles. Incomplete DYK nomination edit

Hello! Your submission of Template:Did you know nominations/Zoo Interchange at the Did You Know nominations page is not complete; if you would like to continue, please link the nomination to the nominations page as described in step 3 of the nomination procedure. If you do not want to continue with the nomination, tag the nomination page with {{db-g7}}, or ask a DYK admin. Thank you. DYKHousekeepingBot (talk) 09:53, 5 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

DYK for Zoo Interchange edit

On 24 February 2019, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Zoo Interchange, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that in 2014, the Zoo Interchange in Milwaukee became the first place that orange pavement markings were tested in the United States? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Zoo Interchange. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Zoo Interchange), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
