Thank you.

The article Kilroy's on Kirkwood has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 14:19, 15 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Contested deletion edit

You contested the deletion of Kilroy's on Kirkwood saying:

This page should not be speedily deleted because... we are an established business and this will help with publicity.

And subsequently:

This page should not be speedily deleted because...this page is to inform the public of the history of the business. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kilroysnicole (talkcontribs) 14:55, 15 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Both statements amount to essentially the same thing: you would like to use Wikipedia to publicize your establishment. Unfortunately, that's not what Wikipedia is here for. Please find another venue for your advertisements. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 15:00, 15 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Before it was deleted, you had posted on Talk:Kilroy's on Kirkwood:
All we're trying to do is discuss the history of the bar which is, by definition, encyclopedic.
Actually, that's not entirely true. Firstly, the article you posted included a complete list of daily specials, which, by definition, makes it an advertisement. Secondly, even if you did only discuss the history of the bar, this bar is not notable, and so, does not merit inclusion at Wikipedia. While an online encyclopedia is not limited by space considerations and can conceivably cover a much broader array of topics than a printed encyclopedia, this does not guarantee every entity in existence coverage. Subjects must be notable so as to guarantee that there is sufficient reliable source material from which to draw to create the article. Lacking reliable sources, we can't verify any of the content in the article, so the article can't remain. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 15:31, 15 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with this edit to Kilroy's on Kirkwood. Please make your case on the page's talk page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. RA0808 talkcontribs 15:06, 15 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Take care edit

Three times created; three times deleted. If you continue this way, you will likely find your editing privileges suspended. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 15:34, 15 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

It's possible I deleted a blank the second time. I might have had the tab open in two places. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 15:56, 15 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 15:35, 15 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Kilroysnicole. You have new messages at WikiDan61's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Hello, Kilroysnicole. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Drm310 (talk) 17:44, 15 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
