Welcome edit

Hello, Loftlaw, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you created appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been deleted for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of deletion, you might like to draft your article before submission, then get me or any other editor to proofread it. To start creating a draft article, just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit that page as you would any other. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

The one firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that if more than one person is using this account to edit, then unfortunately it will be blocked from editing.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! RadioFan (talk) 03:18, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

June 2009 edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: appears to be in conflict 2009 Loft Law Amendment‎, and article which you created. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

Thank you. RadioFan (talk) 03:20, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

I think the concern can be dismissed on the grounds that language was directly taken from the bill in question. I was careful only to inform and not to theorize, editorialize or even explain. As a journalist I know the difference.

If you or anyone else feels that the there is any in the stub that not factual or unsubstantiated, I will be glad to hear that. It is also not correct to say that no references or sources are cited. They are, and they are reliable. Perhaps it helps to read the entire article and also view the sources. I would appreciate if you would remove the tags but leave it up to you. Thank you. Loftlaw (talk) 04:17, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

When may I hope that you can review the stub and remove the concerns? May I go ahead by the end of the day?

Loftlaw (talk) 19:05, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

I didn't really understand your response. Your username matches this article too closely and appears that you are promoting the topic. This conflicts with Wikipedia's tradition of a neutral point of view. You should consider changing your username.--RadioFan (talk) 20:45, 25 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ok, have changed the username. Any chance we can discuss the other objections? Thank you. Loftlaw (talk) 16:21, 26 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Klaus vom Bruch edit

Hi, and thank you for your addition to the encyclopedia. Please consider using the preview function when you're editing--you made six edits to add one line (and it's not formatted correctly), which really clutters up the article history. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 14:48, 28 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Point well taken. Thank you. Loftlaw (talk) 22:25, 29 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for March 28 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kim spencer, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Transborder. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Anthony Ramos edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Anthony Ramos, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.eai.org/pressreleases/09_10_ramos_pr.html.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) Speedy deletion nomination of Anthony Ramos edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Anthony Ramos, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. April 2015 edit

Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Winner 42 Talk to me! 02:51, 25 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Would user Winner 42 please respond?

This page should not be speedily deleted because... Critique is a robotic response that is not based on an actual reading of article:

IT IS ALLEGED: It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

RESPONSE This is a biography - not an advertisement by any stretch of the imagination. Bio is constructed form several sources publicly available and quoted as such.

IT IS ALLEGED: It appears to be a clear copyright infringement of http://www.vdb.org/artists/anthony-ramos. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

RESPONSE Gross misreading of a quote. Quote is identified as such and credited.

Cut-and-paste move of Foresight magazine edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Foresight magazine a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Foresight (magazine). This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you.

I've tagged the page for history merge, so no action is needed on your part. But just an FYI. — Andy W. (talk ·ctb) 20:45, 15 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thank you so much - the move action I have not been able to figure out.
"The magazine is actually using a capital F - So article now correctly is titled Foresight (magazine). Magazine itle is actually not stylized but appeared only erroneously in the Wiki page .
There is still the Foresight magazine page out there - are you able to merge it with this one?
Thanks!!
Karlleger (talk) 21:39, 15 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
I've tagged it with {{histmerge}} already. An administrator will act on it soon. — Andy W. (talk ·ctb) 22:41, 15 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Zwi Wasserstein moved to draftspace edit

Thanks for your contributions to Zwi Wasserstein. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and lack of WP:SIGCOV. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Cleo Cooper (talk) 02:07, 26 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
