Wars with Estonia seem kinda biased. There seems to be a consensus among Swedish archaeologists and Estonina Archeologists that Ingvar was killed in Estonia since they probably have his remains in Estonia as the saga says. It is interesting how Danis, Russian and Baltic nationalists regard seem to be very heavily influenced by the very anti-nationalistic Swedish historians who just accept the Danish and Estonian claims that every victory over Sweden happened. But when the Saga mentions Swedish retaliation they suddenly start to doubt the authenticity of the sources mentioned. So we get the idea that Sweden was a weak power since every Swedish victory gets questioned and every loss is very true and should not be questioned. Estonian archaeologists become super interested in Ingvar and describe how he lost the instant they find the material and the archaeology but when the sources mention Anunds retaliation they do not think it is true or do not even regard its authenticity as a source.
Same thing with Danish historians they mention the Battle of Helgeå as a victory over Sweden but then somehow deny that Sweyn Forkbeard earlier lost a war to Eric the Victorious. They question the historicity of it even thou it is mentioned by Adam of Bremen who got his information from the Danish king. But no no he is not a reliable source. Then when the Anglo-Saxon sources describe the Battle of Helgeå as a Swedish victory it can not be true. So instead what we get is that Canute won a pyrrhic victory against Sweden at best. While if you read a history book it is a complete Danish victory.
Our Swedish historians claim all sources about Sweden are bad until around the year 1100 AD and say most of it could be fiction.
I get why people question if Sweden where involved in Russia when it is constantly being belittled by historians and what is mentioned in the sources is not the weakest country in Scandinavia during the Viking age. Sweden never got subjugated by either Norway or Denmark. But Sweden subjugated Denmark at least 2 times and this is if you only accept Adam of Bremen as a good source and do not take Norse sagas into account. Norway was subjugated one time in the Battle of Svolder together with Denmark. Then Sweden also provided the base of operation for the Norwegian kings to take back the crown from Canute. While Swedish soldiers successfully invaded Norway and gave the land to Magnus the Good. One brief by the Danes is described by the Swedish king Anund around the year 800 AD but, it failed. Then he reunited with his people and decided to ditch the Danes according to Ansgar and Rimbert.
But since Ingvar's attack against Estonia seems to have a scholarly consensus among historians to be true can I add it to the Swedish wars without it being removed?
I do not get why Eric the Victorious is not described as one of the Danish kings. But then again Danish historians seem to be good at revising the sources after their agenda.
Yaropolk the first is described as a client king by Ingvars saga. But then again I have not read so much scholarly literature. But Ingvarssaga mentions a Russian client king being murdered by Åke for marrying his love. The saga does not mention the name of the king. But since we all know it is around 970s Eric the Victorious lived and Yaropolk is described as being murdered by two Varangians (a.k.a) Scandinavian men around 970s by the Primary Chronicle. It is reasonable to assume the man involved is Åke. Who might made a deal with Vladimir to kill Yaropolk Vladimir's rival so Åke could get his love. Eric the Victorious and his trusted friend Haakon Jarl provided Vladimir with 6000 men and probably wanted to ensure a peace deal and the marriage was a way of ensuring that the Power balance between his two tributaries would be equal. Support Vladimir somewhat but do not give him a complete advantage over Yaropolk. Just support him in the beginning when Vladimir is weak so nobody gets too powerful.
When Åke killed Yaropolk he ruined the power balance between Eric's two vassals. Which made Eric pissed. He tolerated Åke for a while. Showing also what kind of power the Swedes had in Kyivan Rus when a murdering Scandinavian could go home to Sweden without punishment for killing a king.
Olof Skötkonung would later accomplish the marriage deal his father wanted done. That Olof later gave Ingegerd to Yaroslav is also telling evidence that the girl in question that Åke married was to be married to Yaropolk. And that the client king being murdered was Yaropolk. This is entirely my conclusion drawn from the Ingvar den vittfarnes saga and Primary Chronicle combined since both sources support each other. Russian king being murdered by Scandinavian. But then again I won't add this since this is original research. Probably someone before me has reached the same conclusion. I just have not read enough litterature and I do not wanna spend alot of money on it.
But I will add the Estonian war but only the one the Swedes lost. Since we can not mention the wars Sweden won. Since Sweden was not a country until the year 1100 or so. But when it fits Estonian and Danish nationalists let's make it true and the Scandinavian sources are true. Or reinterpret the sources to make Denmark seem strong and Sweden weak.
But then again that a Swedish king Ingvar died in Estonia 600s seem to be a fact. Since both Swedish and Estonian historians and archeologists agree with it. Adding it is not controversial. We even have a Swedish national history episode about it.

But sources does not matter when it is the holy Russian nation and the holy crusade that new leader have launched here we got again Soviet historical revisionism. Lets ignore the Scandinavian historical sources and pay the Swedish archeologists and historians with bribes to shut up about the source. To support our holy crusade and use wikipedia as a weapon. Destroy objective sources. Because denying Scandinavian sources for the glory of the motherland. Your banning me because the sources does not agree with the Russian state imperialist goals.

Request reason:
I just added two wars that archeologists and researchers from both Estonia and Sweden agree is true. Alot of historians from both countries support this happening if you check the Wiki pages. I did nothing wrong I tried to improve the article by mentioning the Salme ships and then got blocked from making minor improvements on the list. What is the problem? Why did he have to block my edits. It just improved the list and adds interest for Estonian viking age. Other users have already contributed alot and added alot of sources and done most of the work. I just added a link to their work. Why was I blocked? There is no reason to block my edits. Just check the wikipedia page. I had a source what is the problem? Why are you blocking me. I did not write anything about anything he just blocked me. There are a ton of sources that support Ingvar died violently in Estonia and they probably have his body in Estonia and his ship archeologists have found a ship. They DNA tested the guys and they are from Sweden or Svealand and carbon dated the bodies to the time period described in the sagas. What is disruptive about it? I did add alot on the talk page not a forum. So I did not use it as a forum. I only wanted to add two war to the list of war pages that is mentioned in Scandinavian sources and is widely accepted by archeologists from both Estonia and Sweden to be true. I did use wiki talk page as a forum earlier. But I did just wanna discuss and had no ill intentions. He could be supportive of whatever agenda.I stopped try to use wiki as a forum and then tried to improve the article or list of wars in Swedens history. My edits were constructive and added Estonian history and information so you could read about Estonian and Swedish history. Karl Erik Edvin (talk) 05:03, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
