Question about an edit you made

I saw you added a local short description to California Dreamin' the content of which was identical to the one already existing on Wikidata. What purpose does this serve? I am sorry if this will impinge. Beaneater (talk) 07:47, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for asking Beaneater, it has no negative effect whatsoever... Overriding the description on California Dreamin' only validate the description for establishment on wikipedia rather than relying only on Wikidata alone; hope you understand. Kaizenify (talk) 08:07, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

Improvements on recently created page

Hello Kaizenify. I have taken account of the suggestions made to me on my recently-created article page Mount Ararat Square (Buenos Aires) and worked to improve it, by adding a link to it in the related page Our Lady of Narek Cathedral, Buenos Aires and providing some more references. Do you think the issues might be fixed now? Best regards Abulmiskafur (talk) 20:48, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

Better now, keep editing. Regards. Kaizenify (talk) 08:09, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

Event coordinator granted

After reviewing your request for the "eventcoordinator" permission, I have enabled the flag on your account. Keep in mind these things:

  • The event coordinator right removes the limit on the maximum number of new accounts that can be created in a 24-hour period.
  • The event coordinator right allows you to temporarily add the "confirmed" permission to newly created accounts. You should not grant this for more than 10 days.
  • The event coordinator right is not a status symbol. If it remains unused, it is likely to be removed. Abuse of the event coordinator right will result in its removal by an administrator.
  • Please note, if you were previously a member of the "account creator" group, your flag may have been converted to this new group.

If you no longer require the right, let me know, or ask any other administrator. Drop a note on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of the event coordinator right. Happy editing! Femke (talk) 19:28, 22 October 2022 (UTC)

Hi Kaizenify, and thanks for your contributions. FYI, the CfACP project is currently the subject of two discussions:

As you are a WiR for this project, I hope you will engage in these discussions so that the project can go more smoothly and productively.

Also, I understand that as a WiR, you are receiving a stipend. Please read Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure and comply as soon as possible. The policy requires that you state which organization is paying you, e.g. Code for Africa. You do not have to mention all the partners involved in the project, just the one organization that actually pays you. Best, Clayoquot (talk | contribs) 19:57, 21 October 2022 (UTC)

Hello @Clayoquot; thank you for this notification. It's unfortunate to see all the vandalism caused by new overzealous editors, and I'm sure that won't happen again. For the part of being a WiR for the project covering Nigeria; just the same way for the Wikimedia in Residence program, my objective is to conduct training, education, and lead edit-a-thons with participants towards fighting climate denialism; I have no part in promoting the subject or interest of the partnered organization: 'Code for Africa' which provides the stipend, and the focus is just on fighting climate denialism as an important part of disinformation and knowledge sharing. Apologies once again for the troubles this might have caused with some of the new editors and that will be averted going forward. I will also weigh in on the discussion. Thanks again. Kaizenify (talk) 18:37, 22 October 2022 (UTC)
Thank you! I really appreciate your interest in improving climate articles. What I've seen from the new editors at CfACP isn't vandalism per se. It's been other problems such as promotionalism, copyright violations, and substandard writing quality. I wonder if some of the participants have English as their second language. Could they be amenable to contributing in a language where their skills are stronger? Non-English versions of Wikipedia have much more of a climate misinformation problem. Clayoquot (talk | contribs) 18:48, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
Last year, we did a big multilingual project (not quite finished), to remove climate denial. It may be nice to revisit/expand this if you're working on smaller languages: meta:Climate change portal/climate denial review. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 18:55, 23 October 2022 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Maria Horne

Hello, Kaizenify. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Maria Horne".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 02:46, 2 October 2023 (UTC)

Confirmed status granting

You have been granting confirmed status to edit-a-thon participants for longer than the permissible length of time for event coordinators to grant, found here, namely for a full month, in excess of the 10 day limit for event coordinators, and in one case, for a full six months. Please ensure you have selected only the ten day option, or a lesser option, as the original proposal only permits granting of confirmed status for 10 days maximum. November Articles for creation backlog drive

Hello Kaizenify:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 2 months outstanding reviews from the current 4+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 November 2023 through 30 November 2023.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.

There is a backlog of over 2800 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:24, 31 October 2023 (UTC)
