Speedy deletion nomination of Saikatham Books

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Saikatham Books requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hello, I wrote and asked you many times that how I can remove the uploads I made in the Wikipedia commons. As you recommend the speedy deletion for the article written about Saikatham Books, why there is no speed to reply to me at least after these many months? The logos etc.. are copyrighted. I don't want to share it since our company information is not available in Wiki. to Jusinjacob (talk) 10:21, 16 January 2020 (UTC) @DaiyushaReply

  Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, as you did at Ashitha (writer), you may be blocked from editing. Daiyusha (talk) 02:14, 1 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

It is looking like you put the article in speedy deletion. We tried to add the maximum possible details in a neat and clean way to create a beautiful Wikipedia article. I added the links to other pages only to help the people to find the right information. It is not an advertising article. And we don't do that. After 10 years, we tried to add a small article in Wikipedia of successfully running company information. And immediately you are coming with warnings and reverted all my edits. It took around 8 to 9 hours to prepare that article in a clean and attractive way as per the Wikipedia usage policies. We maximum is taken care to avoid any kind of advertising components and only given the valid and useful information about the particular company. It was good if you could have suggested the edits instead of deleting it.--Jusinjacob (talk) 14:23, 1 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Is that company yours? if yes, creating an article for it is considered promotion. To have an article on wikipedia, the company needs to be notable as per WP:GNG . And you didn't just create an article, you went into other wiki pages and added unnecessary links to your company website. Wikipedia is not a place to advertise, I recommend using facebook or linkedin for that task, or create an about page on your own company site. Daiyusha (talk) 08:44, 2 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Yes, of course, I am also a director of the company and it is my wife's company. Are you suggesting to approach a PR agency like other companies are doing, to write an article in Wiki?! I am a web developer and I know wiki and rules very well. Then why I should approach somebody else (If you say other pages are not like that and somebody is doing for charity or the article is important for the whole world, sorry, I will not agree.) to do a small page in Wiki?! And since I know the regulations, I did it only in an informative way and tried to follow the wiki guidelines. There are millions of pages which is not even following and the guidelines or purely looking like advertisements. I am a member here from years. If I am looking for advertisement, I could have done it earlier. And don't worry, we have a decent platform for advertisements and we use all kind of social media to do it.

Now, we added the article only because many of our authors are having wiki pages and our publishing firm name is mentioned in the wiki but there is no information page about us. At present, we are dealing with all kind of international agencies, and we are one of the top 10 publishing firms in Kerala. And I wonder, why you deleted the page this fast. We are a publishing firm. Not a gold merchant or any kind of money-oriented or profit-oriented business. We are spreading knowledge through books. We are not a commercial publisher. And the action which is highly irritated you is the editing of other pages. See, we only added the page link to those articles. Only to help the people to find out who published it and from where they can get the books.

Ashitha is a very famous writer (You may be knowing that) and "Vishnusahasranamam is her most versatile work. Only because of that we added a link to the book on that page to help the people who are searching for her in Wiki. Because that book is a rare piece and even after our death, the people should get that book from saikatham or they can ask saikatham about the book. [ I know that you may have a different version as you said it was an advertisement or unnecessary edit].

Anyway, I am not interested to pay somebody to create a page for us, since we know very well to do it. And my plan was to create a page for Sangeetha Mathew, who is the first independent Women Publisher from Kerala who published more than 300 books and also wrote books and got awards. Almost all the media published her interview or news. If if I do so, you will come up with a sword I think, because she is my wife :). She is the Managing director of Saikatham Books.

I know that saikatham doesn't have unavoidable importance in the history of Kerala, but I beleive that a publishing firm running by a lady is having some importance because she is circulating literature and not doing business.

Thats all your honour. --Jusinjacob (talk) 10:59, 2 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

paying someone to write an article for you is about the same as writing it yourself, In both cases it will get deleted. Both are cases of advertising. Wikipedia has notability guidelines and doesn't distinguish between profit and non-profit organizations based on notability. Basically only organizations that have done something significant like popularized something or is a first-ever company of its kind at a country level, or be stock listed, or have multiple, "significant, reliable, independent" news articles to exist. In short, the company doesn't qualify by default, you need to show a point of significance. For example companies like lijjat papad have news articles related to how it gave employment to poor households.Provide a similar point and it will not get deleted.Daiyusha (talk) 14:13, 2 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

See, companies may do hundreds of tricks to get noticed like your example. I laughed a lot after reading the article. It is better to suspend their website and keep this wiki page as their Company Website. Because the complete company structure, Organization structure, and management details are there including their catalog etc..., There first evidenced link is there about us page. Wiki is keeping such pages and deleting our small company profile. It is okey. It is upto you to keep it or delete it. But the page is informative only except the last paragraph where they are detailing there charity gimmicks.

I can tell you two three things about us.

1. We are a registered LLP firm and having two approved trademarks under class 41. Saikatham and Saikids. Evidences are available in Indian Government websites.

Can varify the company reg. from the following link Saikatham Books LLP by searching Saikatham Books LLP

Can check the Trade Marks from the following link Trade Mark Checking by Searching Saikatham or Saikids under class 41

2. The first Individual women-owned and women operating registered publishing firm in Kerala. There are many interviews and news about her. I am giving you some links below.

The Hindu News Paper
Indianexpress News Paper
Media One TV
Asianet News TV Money Time
Malayala Manorama News Paper
newsgil.com (This article is Only Online)
manoramaonline.com (Only Online)

There are more articles but Printed Media. Like Kanyaka etc. Not able to provide the link

--Jusinjacob (talk) 19:07, 2 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

No,the lijjat papad page is not badly written,you are allowed to put in the organization structure(although lijjat's could be cut down a bit) and all but ,the reason the page still exists is because the company is so popular that there were documentaries in Nat Geo about it.

Thus, the page remains solely because of its points of significance. Now wikipedia has 2 categories of deletion, CSD(immediate deletion) and AfD(deletion after a week long debate). If your article had the points you mentioned like being the first woman owned publishing press and all, I would still nominate the article for deletion, but you can debate your point.

I am just a normal user on Wikipedia, and I cannot delete pages, I nominated your page and an admin, who is much more familiar with wiki policies deleted it. If you really want your article to go through, you can create a draft, add your points of significance and submit it for review, if it gets accepted, cool. If not, you will get reason why, and you can reedit and improve your draft based on it. Daiyusha (talk) 02:23, 3 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

But adding links to your page in various articles is promotion, there is no debate about it. That will get you blocked if you do it again. Pinging @Materialscientist:, he might be more aware of the policies, could you please correct me if i'm wrong .Daiyusha (talk) 02:28, 3 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

And finally, please let me know in short, what you mean to say? Is it as you posted below, I am still acting against Wiki? So, the article is not eligible for Wiki? --Jusinjacob (talk) 18:36, 3 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

If you are editing about anything personally related to you, you should put a template in your userpage to let others know about that, just read the instructions from the message below. Daiyusha (talk) 01:53, 4 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Jusinjacob. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. This is just an info box for you, you need to declare coi. Not a warning. Daiyusha (talk) 03:50, 3 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

After I explained this much, still you believe that I did something for advertisement, nothing to say. I explained more than enough to prove myself. --Jusinjacob (talk) 05:53, 4 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

You are editing for something that you have a personal connection to, you need to put up a COI template, and you can continue to make edits. Advertising or not, that template is a must, or else people will start reporting you.

On your userpage, add this

 This user has publicly declared that he has a conflict of interest regarding the Wikipedia article Saikatham Books.

, I'm not accusing you anymore, just add this to your userpage, and we're good.

Daiyusha (talk) 10:05, 4 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

If I am adding this to my user page, so what will be the outcome of that. You mean you will restore the deleted page? Or what you mean by that?--Jusinjacob (talk) 11:17, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Jusinjacob, what it means is that you are welcome to edit Wikipedia, but not to try to use it for promotion of any kind. You should not edit any page connected to Saikatham Books, its published authors, its downloadable fonts etc. You should not add any link to saikatham.com anywhere in Wikipedia. We have over five million articles, many of them needing improvement; please turn your attention to some of those instead. Thanks, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 23:01, 13 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello Mr.Justlettersandnumbers, I don't know who is the man behind the name. You people are trying to prove that, I am using the wiki for my personal benefit. And trying to revert all the edits, which is related to my understandings and belief.

I am not able to understand that, how you people believe that the wiki is an advertisement space for the people like me.

I hereby would like to give you people the clear instruction about me and my any other kind of relating articles and news related to Saikatham and Saikatham Books.

We don't and do not require any kind of help from wikipedia (And I repeated) for any kind of my publicity of personal interest. It is funny that you beleive wiki will help my company growth.

I would like to make it clear that, we believe that wiki is a platform, which will give the true pieces of information about an institution of person or object. But never realized that it is just a hump of the personal interest of some admins or editors.

I don't know why you people are attacking me and my edits. Anyway thank you for everything and you are free to delete any kind of article relating to saikatham or any kind of edits done by me.

--Jusinjacob (talk) 18:20, 14 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Let me know how to delete my uploads (Related to Saikatham) from wiki. I don't want to share those logos etc... in a wiki because of those are licensed trademarks.

the funny part is, when we add some authentic and valid points which are legally owned, it is considered as COI, and when we add something about others, you people are asking for proof... So finally, it is some editors personnel interest to add something here.

I owned about 60 websites. And I am sure I will not allow anybody to add anything without my permission in any of my websites.

Up to yesterday, I was blindly believed wiki, that it is a reliable source. But from your last message, I understand that, it is working with the interest of some people.

Nothing o say more.

Thank You for everything.......
