In the early 20th century, eugenics was a major global movement and most geneticists dabbled in it. Although Fisher, like many of his contemporaries, worked on this subject, it is arguable that he was one of its leaders. His association with Eugenics differs from his association with Statistics and Genetics, In the latter two subjects he is indisputably a leader.

Eugenics is also not important as one of Fisher's identities, given that it is not a lasting influence. The eugenics movement waned in the mid 20th century after WWII, but some may argue that it is seeing a resurgence today with various forms of genetic testing and gene editing. The "eugenics" today is, however, very different from the eugenics of the last century. So, Fisher's lasting influence is limited to Statistics and Genetics, and his work and the work of his many contemporaries on Eugenics are more or less forgotten today.
