Identifying reliable sources edit

  • Hi. I am contacting you in relation to your draft article, Draft:Rubans Rouges Dance. For a draft, it is a solid effort, but has some issues which need to be addressed. Specifically, some of the many citations, listed here, will not be permissible in a main space article. Some, like the Imdb link, for instance, represent user-generated content, and cannot be included. Others are self-published sources, which will similarly not be received well, as they are not considered trustworthy for information beyond the most basic, unassailable facts. Amongst the journalistic sources used, there are also issues with reliability and trustworthiness. Sources like LA Weekly (upon which the article is heavily reliant) are overly used, and leave the impression that the article is poorly cited, due to reliance on one source, while some other sources seem to be from tabloids, and are ergo not reliable. I would suggest a review of policy regarding reliable sources, and that you perhaps amend the draft to address these issues. None of this advice aims to detract from the hard work poured into the draft; rather it stems from a wish to ameliorate it further. If you have queries about specific sources, WP:RSN is the place to ask, and if you have any general questions about editing, don't hesitate to ask, either at the Teahouse or my talk page. Hope this helps, Stormy clouds (talk) 19:33, 2 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
