An award? edit

What's it for though? I'm wondering what good I did. --Addict 2006 23:13, 6 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! But please:

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you!

And a little something on the side

--Four wavy ~ tilde signs, simple enough; Addict 2006 23:19, 6 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey Thanks... edit

I appreciate recieving a "you are not stupid" award. I hope that will be proof enough incase I ever get into an argument. I was wondering what "not stupid" thing I did, that was worthy or an award. Thanks again. TommyMoullet 00:29, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

BD (Fairy chess piece) edit

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article BD (Fairy chess piece), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Question about Userbox Creator edit

I'm making some new userboxes again, and this time they're on the Canada's Worst Driver and Canada's Worst Handyman series. The thing I need help with is that I can't figure out how to change the colour of the text using Userbox Creator. I want to change the color of the ID box text from black to yellow. It is available here. --LuigiManiac 12:57, 16 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Archiving and edit summaries edit

When you archived Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Judaism to archive 14 you did not leave an edit summary. Except by checking the diff, it is impossible to see why you removed the content from the talkpage, and I had to look in your contributions lists to see where the content got moved to. Could you please make a point of providing edit summaries?

I also removed the list of articles in other Wikiprojects that you left on Wikipedia:WikiProject Judaism. It is not quite clear why there should be a competition between different WikiProject in the number of articles that falls under their scope. Please let me know if you had different reasons for including that list. JFW | T@lk 15:15, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why would people want to know the relative number of articles under a WikiProject's scope? I think a competition in this area would prove to be harmful (unnecessary content forking etc). JFW | T@lk 15:19, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
I was also going to bring up the issue with not providing edit summaries. While I now know that you were archiving some of the messages, I almost reverted your edit and marked it as vandalism because it looked like you were just blanking part of the page and there was no edit summary to indicate you were archiving it. I encourage you to use edit summaries for every edit you make from here on out so there is no room for confusion about what you are doing. I'd hate to see a competent editor get warned for vandalism just because they didn't type a few words into an edit summary. --pIrish talk, contribs 15:35, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Gematria edit

Hey Java, a quick heads up about gematria. You did an enormous amount of work trying to source material properly. However, there were some major problems that prompted me to revert your edits.

  • The sources you used were tertiary or worse. This page is actually a Wikipedia fork, so probably a rather poor independent outside source. Matthew Gerbrandt may be very knowledgeable on gematria, but I would prefer to have a high-quality source such as the Encyclopaedia Judaica, Encyclopedia Talmudit or some other high-quality academic work.
  • When using 2-3 sources for much of the page, it is possible to link multiple citations to the same reference. Have a look at coeliac disease and subarachnoid hemorrhage, two pages where I've used this principle recently. The page Help:Footnotes contains all the necessary information for working with footnotes.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance in any way. JFW | T@lk 20:47, 7 May 2007 (UTC) Reply

Category:Kabbalah stubs edit

Hi - a stub category which you created has been nominated for deletion or renaming at Wikipedia:Stub types for deletion. The stub type, which was not proposed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, does not meet the standard requirements for a stub type, either through being incorrectly named, ambiguously scoped, or through failure to meet standards relating to the current stub hierarchy or likely size, as explained at Wikipedia:Stub. In the case of this category, it was agreed during the original debate on the creation of the template that no separate category would be created for it until such time as there were sufficient stubs to warrant it, which there are not yet. Please feel free to make any comments at WP:SFD regarding this stub type, and in future, please consider proposing new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 00:50, 8 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Double redirects edit

You recently moved Homosexuality and Judaism to Jewish views on homosexuality. When you move article to a new article name, there's a confirmation page that tells you to fix the double redirects you create in the process. I just did it. --Steven J. Anderson 22:42, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
