Associated Students of the University of California edit

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Associated Students of the University of California, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you do not change this within a few days then i will do this for you but i would prefer to send you a message like this than just go and change your page. Redirect of Dsx edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Dsx, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Dsx is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Dsx, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Your You tube videos.. edit

In light of the disgraceful attitude of YouTube/Google towards both the use of (C) materials and user privacy, I am at present checking reviewng and in some cases removing links to YouTube from English Wikipedia..

I noted that you have a number of Videos relating to Yellowstone park, on you tube..

If you are the copyright owner of these, It is STRONGLY recomended that instead of using the propriatery You Tube system, you transcode them to a 'open' format (OGG Theora is ideal) and upload them under suitable 'free' license on commons, to enable thier use on Wikimedia projects.

Thanks Sfan00 IMG (talk) 19:10, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • I do plan to upload some of my Yellowstone videos to Wikimedia Commons, but I haven't had the time to convert them to OGV format yet. :( --Ixfd64 (talk) 20:35, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Natural Bridges State Beach edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Natural Bridges State Beach, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.  X  S  G  05:08, 4 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Category:Sword-and-Sorcery films edit

There have been several attempts at a speedy renaming of this cat. What happened in the last one? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 00:02, 10 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • I originally proposed that the category be speedily renamed to Category:Sword-and-sorcery films (with a lowercase "s" in "sorcery"), but other users argued that it did not fit the criteria for speedy renaming. FormGen edit

A tag has been placed on FormGen, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ThunderCatsFan (talk) 02:16, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re. this edit

Why includeonly? That way it categorizes all pages it's transcluded on as well, which may not necessarily be related to the template. No other template is constructed like that too; mind if I restore it? -- Mentisock 13:50, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • I added the includeonly tag because the categories it enclosed are intended for articles. Template:Internet memes itself is not an article. --Ixfd64 (talk) 22:56, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Maybe delete the categories then? I don't think other templates include cats for their articles, correct me if I'm wrong though. -- Mentisock 20:35, 24 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of World Vaisnava Association edit

A tag has been placed on World Vaisnava Association requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. §hawnpoo 04:03, 8 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
