Speedy deletion nomination of International School of Engineering

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on International School of Engineering, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Cindy(talk) 07:45, 24 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Ways to improve International School of Engineering

edit

Hi, I'm Kudpung. Insofe, thanks for creating International School of Engineering!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Please do not use Wikipedia to advertise. I have removed all the promotional content. Please provide reliable sources for the rest.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 08:30, 24 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your username

edit

Insofe: I checked what you'd posted on Talk:International School of Engineering contesting the speedy deletion and noticed that you used "we". Please note that group accounts are not permitted; an account must be only one person. Moreover, that suggests to me that your user name, Insofe, may be short for the name of the institution, International School of Engineering. While it is not an obvious case, we do not allow user names that are names of organisations of any kind. I am assuming you intend to contribute to Wikipedia in ways other than promotion of the institution. If this is so, please request a new user name here. Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.  You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. Requested username:

Request reason:

I did not read the username policy and hence accidentally created one that does not meet the wikipedia policy. I would like to change it to my name, Savitri. Thank you.

Decline reason:

The username you selected is already in use by another user. Feel free to pick another username, but check Special:ListUsers before making your next request to check that the username is not already taken. Also, please be aware that even with a change of username, you are still required to follow the conflict of interest guideline, which may suggest that the edits you are making may not be appropriate. Editing with a conflict of interest is generally not advised. Shirik (Questions or Comments?) 04:35, 30 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

The username I took is already in use. So I had to choose another name.

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 18:42, 30 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello, even though you have changed your username, you still have a clear conflict of interest regarding the article International School of Engineering. You should suggest changes to the article on the talk page, rather than adding content that is promotional and unsourced as you just did. Thank you, Melcous (talk) 02:21, 27 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

I am not clear where I sounded promotional and unsourced. Could you please clarify? I will change accordingly. Savitri KVL 12:42, 27 October 2016 (UTC)SavitriKVL
