Speedy deletion nomination of Make me famous

edit

Hello HiMyNameMichael,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Make me famous for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Storkk (talk) 18:39, 8 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Scream For Me requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that your page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Scream For Me

edit

Hi, Micheal. I just wanted to let you know why I nominated your article for speedy deletion. Primarily, it has no references. At all. None. Enyclopedias, whether they are print encyclopedias like World Book or an online encyclopedia like Wikipedia are what are known as tertiary sources. Simply put, that means that we only publish articles about things that others have written about. Hence, no sources = no article. There are links already on your talk page to guides for writing your first article, what is required for biographical articles (and bands, as groups of people, fall under these requirements) and how to identify reliable sources. In addition, you should take a look at the requirements for inclusion for an article at Wikipedia, especially the subsection WP:MUSIC. A great resource for new editors is the Teahouse. I will leave you a link for it. It is a Q&A forum especially for new editors. They were a huge help to me, and trust me, the learning curve for Wikipedia can be kinda steep. I am also available to answer any questions you may have about Wikipedia policies, guidelines or traditions, but I am not exactly an expert on modern music. Alice Cooper is my idea of a heavy metal group! In any case welcome. It is tough on beginners here, but if you ask questions, make friends and listen to the advice you are given from more experienced editors, your success at Wikipedia will improve rather quickly! Evolution

edit

You linked to the concept of animals and plants evolving, not the album called Evolution. Also, the album is not yet released, and the article is not yet written, and you didn't show a published source discussing it. Binksternet (talk) 06:49, 7 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
