Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself, at Draft:Herbert Scheibenreif. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. I have submitted 6 articles so far, 4 of which have been accepted. So I'm not an absolute beginner. My articles about Friedrich Lips were accepted in both German and English, only the German version was accepted for "Herbert Scheibenreif" and about the "Harmonikaverband Österreichs", but not the English ("Herbert Scheibenreif" and "Austrian Accordionists' Association). I am the author of all articles.
1) Why are identical articles judged differently in different languages? Do the same reliable sources have different reliability in different languages?
2) In the meantime I have received various offers from people who wanted to write my pages, of course for a fee. Creation of Wikipedia pages as a business?
3) Do different reviewers have different criteria?
Of course I'm grateful for all your comments and any advice! Herbert52 (talk) 17:22, 3 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Each language version of Wikipedia is a separate project, with their own editors and policies.(for example, group accounts are encouraged on the German Wikipedia but they are not allowed on the English Wikipedia). What is acceptable on one version is not necessarily acceptable on another. In my experience the English Wikipedia tends to be stricter than others.
There are third parties, many of whom monitor the Draft space, that claim to offer Wikipedia editing services. These are not endorsed by Wikipedia in any way. These have varying reputability, and many are outright scams(especially if you are contacted by email unsolicited). If you decide to hire someone to write your draft for you, it is a Terms of Use requirement that they declare that. Despite what they might tell you, they can make no guarantees(such as writing an article that will not be deleted). Do not hand over any money until you see the finished product, should you decide to do that.
All reviewers are different people, and may specifically be looking for different things, but in general reviewers look for a draft to be sourced to at least three independent reliable sources that establish notability.
I will lastly note that it is highly discouraged, though not forbidden, for people to write about themselves on Wikipedia. Please read the autobiography policy. Being successful in writing about yourself requires you to set aside everything you know about yourself and only write based on the content of independent reliable sources. Most people have great difficulty doing that about themselves; I've never seen it happen in my many years here(though it probably has, it's very rare, at least). 331dot (talk) 09:51, 7 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
