Communication & Interaction with other editors edit

Hi Hentzer,
I noticed in relation to the above remarks and the discussion at Wikipedia:Wikiquette_assistance#Lack_of_edit_summary_despite_repeated_requested that you don't seem to have interacted with other editors since October, following a message from Melesse and then Walter Görlitz regarding an image you had uploaded. I fully appreciate that it can be frustrating when editors appear to criticise or demean the effort you put into wikipedia, and if that is the reason for your subsequent lack of communication with editors then please let me assure you of a couple of points:

  • When editors make comments on your talk page, they're probably not out to get you: most of us are pretty friendly, and if you discuss problems with editors directly then they're bound to be more than happy to help resolve them.
  • When editors appear to be aggresive or rude, that is generally not their intention; rather such appearances tend to be due to miscommunication and misunderstanding: this can be fixed by engaging with other editors and clearly explaining the situation to them.

Please feel free to get back to me either here or at my talk page if you wish to discuss any of this (or if I've got completely the wrong end of the stick and you'd like to set me straight).
Best wishes, SpitfireTally-ho! 03:29, 18 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

January 2012 edit

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as on Talk:Recognition of same-sex unions in Brazil‎, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button   or   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. Me-123567-Me (talk) 22:02, 10 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Copyright block edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without verifying permission. You have been previously warned that this is against policy, but have persisted.

Please take this opportunity to be sure you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content. If you wish to resume editing, it may be necessary for you to demonstrate your understanding of these policies and reassure the community of your willingness to comply. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:21, 24 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

In spite of many earlier notifications and an ongoing contributor copyright investigation, you are still pasting content onto Wikipedia without any evidence of license.

On April 15, you created the article ADPF 187, which included in part the following text:

The court held that the marches must be allowed if authorities were to respect the rights of freedom of expression and the right to assemble. The marches are a way for citizens to exercise their rights, Justice Celso de Mello said. "Nothing proves more harmful and dangerous than the desire of the state to repress freedom of expression, especially of ideas that the majority repudiate. Thought should always be free," De Mello said. In 1997 police arrested members of the band Planet Hemp, immediately following a São Paulo show they had recorded for evidence. Police charged the band members with lyrics supporting the use of maconha (marijuana). Pro-pot legalization marches associated with the Global Marijuana March the first weekend in May each year began in Brazil in Rio de Janeiro and have since popped up in other cities across the country. Beginning in 2008, local courts began banning them, arguing that they were a justification for drug use.

This June 2011 source says:

The court held that the marches must be allowed if authorities were to respect the rights of freedom of expression and the right to assemble. The marches are a way for citizens to exercise their rights, Justice Celso de Mello said. "Nothing proves more harmful and dangerous than the desire of the state to repress freedom of expression, especially of ideas that the majority repudiate. The day before, you had pasted content from this MSNBC article into ADI 3510.

Given your evident unwillingness or inability to comply with our copyright policies, I have blocked your account. I will be updating your CCI with all edits you have created since it was originally listed. Given the extreme amount of work your practices have caused others and the many opportunities you have had to moderate your approach, I do not believe that you should be unblocked without some strong indication that you both understand and will comply with our licensing requirements. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:21, 24 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:Unisantos.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Unisantos.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:25, 18 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Latin American 10,000 Challenge invite edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Latin America/The 10,000 Challenge ‎ has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Argentina etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Latin American content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon. If you would like to see this happening for Latin America, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Latin America, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 00:35, 27 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

The file File:Same-sex adoption in South America.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused and redundant to File:Same-sex adoption - South America.png.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
