• I think this is not fair from your side not to inform me when asking a question that a discussion was ongoing elsewhere. I see anyhow that the main section of the Olympic Charter devoted to the Olympics is entitled CELEBRATION, ORGANISATION AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE OLYMPIC GAMES with subsection Celebration of the Olympic Games. Held i not used "some times" in the Olympic Charter relative to the Olympic Games but three times exactly, vs. more than ten times for "celebrated" or "celebration".

Anyway, my point is that the Olympic Games is not just a sporting event, but a cultural and sport festival. I think that using held is precisely not describing what the Games are. They are not a collection of World Championships.

The sentence of the head of state for the opening of the Games is "“I declare open the Games of ... (name of the host city) celebrating the ... (number of the Olympiad) ... Olympiad of the modern era.”

The sentence of the head of IOC for the closing of the Games is "I declare the Games of the [ordinal number] Olympiad/Olympic Winter Games closed and, in accordance with tradition, I call upon the youth of the world to assemble four years from now in [name of host city] to celebrate the Games of the [subsequent ordinal number] Olympiad/Olympic Winter Games." Dear Hektor, please be WP:CIVIL. Comments link "Please refrain from reverting stuff you don't know about" is a violation of WP:CIVIL. There are reasons why I reverted this edit. The lead says "STS-134 is currently the Contingency Shuttle Crew Shuttle flight which should be launched in case of damage to Endeavour during the STS-133 mission." It appeared to be violation of Wikipedia:Recentism. So please don't make sweeping comments like "Please refrain from reverting stuff you don't know about". Have a nice day. In my experience (been a user for a couple years, an admin for a little more than a year I think, etc), it's best to avoid using that word at all, even when it applies (WP:SPADE and pals), as it serves little purpose other than to inflame the situation, and, usually gives a legitimate troll a great opening to start problems. Contingency missions

Hektor, where did you get the information that NASA no longer plans CSCS missions? "The practice of having contingency missions has been dropped for ISS mission after STS-124"? This is simply not correct, NASA has had CSCS flight plans for each mission, and will for every one until the end of the shuttle program. The MMT presentations have STS-119 as the LON, with a launch date of January 17th if it were needed. I'm not sure where you got the information that they no longer have CSCS plans, but that's definitely not accurate. See this article that shows STS-119 as the LON vehicle for STS-126, as well as the other references given in the entire section you removed. "In the event of call-up, the STS-119 Base Mass Memory would be flown on OV-103 using STS-119 Base Load and associated products and flight specific I-load patches,” notes the presentation. As such, should a LON situation develop during STS-126 (which is highly unlikely), NASA would use the “fly the next flight” approach. They don't plan any specific rescue mission, from STS-124, they run the next nominal mission, with the payload in the bay. The STS-3xx series was named so because there was a different cargo set from the nominal mission (empty bay for STS-3xx).
